When my dog was a puppy we were teaching her to kiss and she bit my wife in the face with those sharp puppy teeth, apparently it's common with Border Collies .she only did it the once . We had very little problems with her. afew issues with walks running of when off the lead chased a big bird into muddy water and was a hell of a mess and rolling in dog shit while on a walk .she would do things once get told off and not do it again .we made her part of the family and new she was loved ❤ .she's 11 now and is showing old age signs but is still very happy id like to get a new one but the wife thinks it will break her little hart ,we got a new cat because the cat is 15 and the dog loves the kitchen and will stand up for her with the old cat ,but that's a cat not a puppy any idears

Entertain, be there at all times- that is certainly a high stake! If only perfect environments were acceptable, many dogs would be entirely without a home and would need to be put down. I find these demands and expectations, albeit certainly well intentioned, almost dangerous. Obviously I speak from personal experience: we tried to adopt, and the demands of the animal rescue operation spiralled out of all proportion. We bought from a breeder- our dog is health insured, has a fenced in playground and sleeps on assorted couches. We went to dog school, he is never alone for more than 4 hours- and thanks to covid not even that- yet the rescue accused us of possibly being dog hell, because we wanted to be the complete owners, not permanent fosters subject to random controll visits. Also: dogs have their very own personalities, and they are flexible and capable and willing to adapt into the idionsyncrasies of their family. I wish, that part of dog-parenting would be empathized more, people encouraged to cohabitate with what after all should be man's best friend, not an unsurmountably time and energy consuming challenge.

Alot of what you said was malarkey.. pssht .. you're definitely wrong about eye contact… so many different personalities in dogs, one loves hugs , one hates them or only likes little ones. Some things I agreed with that are dangerous for there health … my dog would jump on my lap and stare into my eyes nose to nose for so long ….it was adorable and she wanted hugs all the time.
