Why did they only come after the fallout happened?
My hypothesis is that due to earth’s gravity and atmosphere the ships material and controls is what causes it to crash
I love how people attribute Mothership Zeta specifically for the Zetan race. Whether they say it’s a good or bad thing for the games, one thing that is overlooked is that there is a clear dead Zetan from the beginning of Fallout 3. Even if MSZ DLC never came out, it would still be established that aliens exist in that world.

I wish that fallout 4 had a zeta esq sidequest. Maybe as an institute quest where the Bioscience guys send you to take the crashed captain captive so that they can study it and make alien synths. If Todd was feeling generous, he could've let you take the alien blaster to advanced systems, where they could have made additional alien ammo or give you the level 4 science mod that turns its ammo into regular energy cells, or maybe give you a legendary institute rifle alien blaster hybrid. They could've done a lot more with the alien, basically
