As ZDNET’s primary MagSafe expert, I’ve tried tons of different accessories, from tons of different brands, made of tons of different materials. That’s why when there’s one that really catches my eye, I’ll journal about it. That’s why I’m here today scooping the Benks ArmorGo magnetic wallet. 

MagSafe wallets are perfect for storing cards (and sometimes cash) on your phone, and if you’re anything like me – there’s not many places I go that my phone doesn’t, making a MagSafe wallet a practical accessory. The Benks ArmorGo wallet is an affordable option on the MagSafe market, with a stylish look, durable build, and a kickstand to prop your phone up. 

Head to Head: Benks vs Ohsnap

When I first saw the Benks ArmorGo wallet, it immediately reminded me of another option I had tried a few months ago — the Ohsnap Grip wallet. Both the ArmorGo and Ohsnap Grip wallet feature a similar sleek profile and design, slim yet durable construction, and a built-in stand feature. The Ohsnap Grip wallet is a bit heavier and more premium and feel, but for good reason, as it bears a higher pricetag. 

The largest difference between these two wallets is card capacity and cost. While the Benks ArmorGo can hold up to three cards, the Ohsnap Grip is a sort of expandable wallet that can store up to 8, which is a significant difference.

But – the Ohsnap Grip costs a hefty $80 (or $100 for the carbon fiber model), while the Benks ArmorGo offers an eerily similar style for just $35.

If you’re not pining for max capacity, the ArmorGo is a great bang for your buck for a similar design. Functionally, they both operate the same way. A built in kickstand allows for landscape or portrait viewing, and a back notch on the wallet allows for you to push your cards out for access and slide them back in. 

Truly, my biggest complaint with the Benks ArmorGo is that it doesn’t hold more than three cards based on my testing (it was a tight squeeze with my two debit cards, but I do have card covers on them). I’d also love to see it in more upbeat colorways for those of us with a bit more personality. 

The existing color lineup is elevated and sleek for those wanting a streamlined look, though. I’m also not the biggest fan of MagSafe wallets that require a back notch for card access, though it’s a personal preference and doesn’t affect performance. 

Benks also says that the ArmorGo wallet may slightly touch the camera frame on Samsung Series cases, but it won’t affect usage. I wasn’t able to verify this since I have an iPhone, but, if this is a concern for you, you’ll want to keep it in mind.

If you’re looking for an enclosed-style MagSafe wallet that’s lightweight, durable and sleek without costing a fortune — the Benks ArmorGo may be for you. You can’t go wrong with this light carry and stulish wallet that holds just the essentials and doubles as a stand, especially for under $35. But, if you’re looking for a MagSafe wallet that’s a bit more premium or holds a larger capacity, consider the Ohsnap Grip Wallet or another tested pick on our best MagSafe wallets list.
