Came here to learn more about civ games and found videos about one of my favorite games of all time. Nice to see a fellow man of good taste 😂
One year later: laughing at that 15 hours to reach Baldur's Gate 😂
usually turn based combat sucks, like in jRPGS, becaus its not tactical and it doesnt.need to be turn based
games like dviinity, baldurs, wasteland, xcom are different and those games actually have sensical turn based combat
You can customize your character's penis and/or vulva, but it has limited face & body customization. Oh, and there's bear sex at one point. Hard pass.
Greedfall 1 is a deep enriched 3rd person crpg about colonialism
I wish I understood what so many people enjoy about this, but it looks like it would put me to sleep
I was brutally honest towards the healer and she was nice to me/sided with me to find Halsin. The ways this game can take are crazy!
As for the fast travel, I have never been a fan of it in any game with a nice world, and BG3 is one of them.
It diminishes the feeling or scale, the feeling of relief when getting to a camp, the tension when trying to get from one place to another through dangerous areas…
But I also see use in it, especially in a game where you already spend a lot of time walking and talking, where companions like to bumble into stuff needlessly, where a single mistake can wipe out a good while of progress if you forgot to save etc…
So I have been disappointed with the wizard class ever since I started my 200 hours of beta a few years back.
Then I tried divination and WHOA! 😱 That stuff goes deep and now I wonder how far I can go into manipulating "reality" and what some of the other magic schools have to offer.
Final fantasy tactics was one of my fav ganes. Disagea as well this like tactical turn based on steroids. So much stuff you can do and dialogue xhoices ways to manuever evironments is incredible. Found a flying scroll and flew across a lake to a island woth epic loot just crazy hoq thinking outside the box and tryibg sruff is rewarded.
Is this even a real question? Of course it is! Silly Pixel.
Yes!
I'm loving it, on Deck on the go and docked it's amazing how well it works.
Its good for D and D fans i cant get in to it, too much time consuming. Idid purchased within 2 hours i ask for refund.
I think you're missing the point. Missing story arcs is normal, for games that have replayability
The only 'big' negative thing I have to say about BG3 at this point in time is that Larian still doesn't know how to make a good inventory UI, jesus christ they're terrible at it.
i have been an ad&d player since the 1st and 2nd edition days (mid 80's) an d bg3 seems to me the first pc game to capture the depth and wonder of d&d fully
I have it, since the beta. Its a good game. The UI kills it for me thou.
I hate that Solasta, a much smaller game and dev team made a far better UI. So I play Solasta for the most part, despite having both.
On the pile of "Dont watch LPs, because I want to play it. Later… Eventually." it goes…
🤮
Yes. That's it, that's the whole Video. Now go play some more BG 3.
Something I think is really special about this game is you can see in comment sections that's it's drawn in so many different types of people. From complete newbies to people who have extensive experience with CRPGs as well as D&D. Really special games, music and film can do that. Break past genre barriers and BG3 is yet another incredible example (nod to Elden Ring) of what can be produced by a passionate team, who are allowed to do what they really love.
No monetisation, no battle pass, no in game shop… You buy the game and you have hundreds, if not thousands of hours of content all packaged in.
As someone who couldn't get 2 minutes into a CRPG without uninstalling, it's reeled me massively. I put 200 hours into early access and am just absolutely in love with the game. I'm honestly the complete opposite of what this game should appeal to. Hate role play, don't follow narratives or ever really get bothered by characters, I'm not into immersion and I haaaate turn based combat.
I can't do the game justice in a comment but your video went some way to doing so! If anybody even reads this and is on the fence, please leave your prejudices at the door 😂. Sure, some people will really not like this game but I think a lot of people who assume they won't would actually end up loving it.
Seriously referring to this as "Baldur's Gate", let alone the third installment of what is already a trilogy, is a disingenuous affront to all good taste. Anyone with any care for good business practices and the health of the industry will stay well and clear of paying for """Baldur's Gate""" """3""" and supporting Larian and Hasbro and their marketing cashgrabs.
