I’ve been really tempted to buy this after watching the first episode of the TV series, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. I know I will enjoy it but it’s still holding a price of over £60! I’m going to play part 2 & try to hold off until the price is more reasonable (which probably won’t be any time soon now there is hype for the TV series) 😅
The Last Of Us is one of the greatest video games of all time. The narrative, gameplay visuals, sound designs, score, characterization, action sequences, and performance's was absolutely and positivity spectacular and phenomenal. It really identifies and analyzes the boundaries of humanity, mankind, survival, love, loss, and emotional resonance. It was decent. To this day I still play it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍👍💯😎
Man that point you made in end of the vid is exactly what I wish more reviewers would be honest about. Much respect for being the only one who didn't seem to be bought off as well
Fuck no it's just the same game you finished with more upto date graphics like the second game just get the remaster
Yes a great game and good buy.
Can’t deny how beautiful the game looks BUT increased graphics and mostly quality of life improvements do not justify the price of $70, a price of a brand new game. They are charging more for this remake then they did when the game came out as an original game back in 2013, and the price is more than what last of us part 2 was when it came out as an original game. Maybe justifiable for first timers but this could’ve been an EASY recommendation for EVERYONE if the asking price was $30, $40 max. I’d rather pay full new game price of $70 for a game like God of War Ragnarok or a game that has been putting work and resources towards something that is a brand new experience that is truly from the ground up from the writing, story, voice acting, motion capture, new levels and combat design, audio. A game like that, for me justifies a $70 price tag but not one like last of us part 1 because they just improved fidelity and added mostly quality of life improvements.
Best review for the game I’ve seen so far. Great job!
Saw my kid playing this and it did nothing for me. The game maybe a masterpiece(imo it isn't) but it was clearly not for me.
This game is one of my all time top favourites. Hands down, it's a masterpiece in anything I've ever played.
I'd never pay more than I did for the original, let alone a remake. They can suck my middle finger and let the door hit them on the way out, I'm offended they'd even ask such a price, even if the game is incredible. Lipstick on an old game doesn't mean it's suddenly magic again.
Let's talk turkey: when the game launched, it cost the typical $50 and garnered 3.4 million sales per Eurogamer (in opening!). It isn't like they lost money. I can't seem to dig up how much it cost to develop, but I seem to recall numbers in the 2-3 million, which was huge.
Surely they invested in on this remake. It doesn't mean they can rob us for updating textures, redoing some AI and giving us the same thing twice. They made their profit, they're trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice rather than say "hey, we redid this classic for you." Take note, and I'm glad you did. They'll scalp you at any turn, and it's wise to see how they operate.
i mean Last of 1 or Demon Souls remaster?
Both are significantly different to justify $70.
Demon Souls was only a PS3 game. So on the PS4 and Xbox we had no access to playing it at all. And with much better graphics and some touches to polish couple things it was nice to see. But not everyone can get a PS5 to play it right now. And more likely everyone has played the later Souls games, that Demon Souls is going to be rough.
But it makes more sense to spend $70 on Demon Souls than Last of Us.
Answer to question: Yes. Whether u played it before or not, it’s a good game to support. Yeah it’s simply new gen to pay an extra $10. Not that bad imo. If that’s too much, then I don’t recommend buying new gen consoles nor games at all. Also, if you’re going to buy a next gen console and thus games, then commit to invest the time into playing such. If you’re not playing daily then the experience won’t be worth it generally. Invest the time to platinum all the next gen games u decide to buy, then u will appreciate the price tag more than initially.
Great review as usual👏
such a well written review I had to stop watching so i can figure out some of the new details for myself haha
Great Review 👍👍
Amazing game yet the price is crazy don't feed the greedy it will only get worse , buy the remastered version is way cheap for old game .
I wasn't super sold on the haptic feedback controller either
When I first got the system however the only game that I really could feel it on was Grand theft Auto V, you can tell that the shooting was a little bit stiffer but in a way that made it feel like you were pulling a heavy trigger pull, and the pressure would change as you accelerated and decelerated in cars like you could feel the gear shifting
It was also pretty cool in no man's sky how you could kind of feel a lot more resistance when taking off in your ship, that was pretty impressive
But in both games those were kind of the only moments where I noticed anything. I have the remake of Demon's Souls which is a straight up PS5 exclusive but I don't know that it utilizes the system for anything at all
It wasn't until I played Metro Exodus that I saw just how cool this feature can be when it's implemented properly. I can't explain just how great it feels to light off the assault rifle in that game, it really does give you the sensation that there's a gun jumping up and down with recoil in your hands.
Playing this Last of Us remake this would be the second best I've ever felt the feedback triggers, even little things like the amount of resistance you get on the left trigger to raise your weapon in the air changes from something like a handgun to a shotgun indicating the weight of the heavier firearm
It's not necessary to enjoy a game, I don't know so much that I really consider it a defining selling feature for the system, but man when it is done well it is really really cool and definitely enhances the experience if only a little
I'm more or less over it now, but Part 2 left a hideously bitter taste in my mouth and single-handedly killed the investment I once had in this franchise. Credit where it's due: this game looks more gorgeous than ever, far less janky, and I appreciate the quality of life improvements overall, but I can't get over that price tag, ESPECIALLY with PS5 prices bafflingly on the rise now. ND and Sony had to pull out all the stops to win my goodwill back, but now I only feel even more estranged from them :/ Too many reasons why I shouldn't buy it (for the third time) and not enough reasons why I should. But at the very least, PC gamers will finally get the chance to enjoy the experience for themselves soon.
I'm still cynical about the future of this franchise, but I appreciate another fair and even-tempered review from you, dude! Keep it up!
Maybe for 20 dollars down the line.
Play plague tale innocence ps5 thats the best use of the dualsense i have felt so far apart from astrobot & returnal
I know its an unpopular opinion to have, but I found the original to be extremely overrated. There are so many other games that should've been remade before this one.
hi
For those who haven’t played this before, just get the PS4 version for a couple of quid off eBay and away you go.
Well crafted review and good for not letting the review code take away the criticism like other industries do like IGN. Good to know someone else's perspective on this as a consumer like us
First!, great video!
Was patiently waiting to see your take ♥️
