He used to have a digital art course that I signed up for. It's a good thing I got a refund because from what I remember or at least for AUD it costed around $100 to $200 but I chose to pay doing the pay-off over time plan so I only gave like $50 – $100. I had no idea at the time his drawing course came up that he was using AI for his work and thankfully I didn't continue with the payment for his course and got my money back. I'm happy I saved myself from giving someone who uses AI for their art money, it's scary to think I almost did.

Its funny: the more AI images I see, the easier I can identify them. Not 100% sadly, but I'm getting better ^^ Sadly, most people dont even bother checking or care whether or not something is AI… they just want a nice picture. Until they want something more, they will be satisfied with garbage – without even knowing that its garbage.

I followed him but I thought something was a bit off from the start but couldn't specify what. I had no solid evidence so I didn't want to throw around accusations about them using ai when they could easily be an actual artist making mistakes, but I probably should've just looked into it more to confirm my suspicions than do nothing. Just like you, I saw a lot of my artist mutuals following him who have very opposite morals to what this guy was doing, so I figured maybe my doubts were wrong.
Crazy how so many people, including fellow artists don't make the difference between AI generated images and human made art, its just so striking imo, this kind of smooth rendering, the high contrasts and saturation when it uses colours, the abstract shape that clearly don't evocate any understanding about how volume, light, colour works etc.
I'm not sure if that's because people scroll fast and don't take time to get a proper look at it and/or maybe people don't understand what ai art is beyond '"sometimes it makes weird hands" but i honestly think that educating people about it and as an artist training your observation skills are two super important things in today's era of digital art, for the sake of every artist out there really…
i'm not against the use of AI.. but it shouldn't be the end result.. use ai to generate your ideas and then draw it with your own vision… i'll give an example: lets say i want a character that's similar to Tamaki from Fire Force (cat flames girl) .. with different hair style and color (perhaps hair gradient color) .. i'd take the output result from that and use it as my reference for what i do want to make.. this is how ai should be utilized as a tool.. not as an end result product.
Not even suprising to me. Couple of years ago I was really desperate for some extra cash and decided to start a gigg on fiverr for custom paintings. I decided to research all the other top sellers to see what they were doing to get commissions and found out that literally one of the top guys on the site was just selling photoshop filters as "watercolor" paintings, and AI wasn't out at the time so it wasnt even good looking, it literally looked like a picsart filter. I decided to report the account and went about my way, got zero comissions. I decided to reopen my fiverr gig and guess what, same guy in the top still selling hundreds of picssart filters. These types of vultures have always existed among artists, there's practically nothing you can do about it other than making people aware of the scam, then again how far can your little voice even reach.

Amazing how I'm struggling to juggle practicing anatomy, color theory, and illustration techniques to hopefully someday draw up a comic and among other things, I still suck but slowly getting better bit by bit. However some douchebag can actually just put crap into a prompt and almost immediately start making money. Screw scam artists like this dude, sheesh

im screaming as im going through his Instagram rn ,ive seen his art before and ive thought wow hes really talented and i didnt think anything of it but now going through his ig account i SEE it its so slight like you have to be an artist to catch it how differently he shades the faces and yes ik artists can change their style of work ya ya I KNOW THAT CUS IM VERY INCONSISTENT but some of his work literally reminds me of other ai images ive seen on Pinterest before, like youve guys have probably seen thoes anime like hyper polished ai drawings before iam literally looking at a picture he "drew" that looks like a black and white version of that , this is making my blood boil ngl , as an artist ,as a youtuber, as a human being and the fact he puts his face on his account without shame? wow.
