The colour scheme was one of my favourite aspects of the original; the whole thing was a big bowl of warm fuzzy feelings. In the remaster the colours are just WRONG WRONG WRONG. Also I miss the ridiculous original voice acting. And the NPCs faces in the remaster all look like they’re made of plasticine. Thankfully some mods and reshades have helped the colours at least. Now I just wish the bastard would stop crashing constantly.

It’s ridiculous that they desaturated the colours. Even positive reviews bemoan the loss of Oblivion’s unique colour scheme. So why? They could have done the exact same remastering of the graphics but kept the colour.

I've actually never played this game, but the level scaling sounds a bit like Final Fantasy Tactics where you'll get demolished by the jobber enemies in random battles between missions if you're over-leveled in the earlier parts of the game before unlocking the better weapons at the shops. I've had to restart from the beginning in FFT after breaking the game with that kind of thing lol.
If it's just a graphical upgrade I'm gonna stick with the original. More funny and more traumatising a npc engage in a surprise discussion with you. Also I'm scared of the remastered fan. You know the one that can't die.

now give this game a mod for npcs beeing controlled by AI and give them new tasks programmed by Ai according to their original story onwards…this would create a quasi new game on top…let Ai controll movements, sidequests, creation of new items within the context of TES Saga please…

I've dumped a lot of hours into Skyrim. Always wanted to play Oblivion, but never got around to it. So this is nice for me.
I was trying to see if they did the map 1:1 but the remastered is bigger than 360
mods are already out and my pc doesnt stutter so might be a specific hardware issue? idk about this take.

My problem with the original was how boring it got for me going through the million oblivion gates which had basically the same feeling experience most of the time and while playing I struggled to differentiate between the content for each of them…. If that is still the case in this version, then I can't imagine trying it to be honest
