I'm highly allergic to cats and have happily lived with them for decades. Allergy shots were an absolute game changer for me, but also the meds have gotten so much better over the years. But really, extra cleaning was enough for years to manage my symptoms. But also, you're so right about how some cats tip off my allergies more than others.
This isn't from grass nor yard tool fume, but a chemical that people put on cats or cats get on that chemical residue in the home or yard. I do not believe people can be allergic to cats genetically. I've been exposed to this chemical more frequently recently in Keizer-Salem, Oregon. They recently changed from a sneezing chemical to a headache chemical. So in coming years, more and more kids will not sneeze but complain of a headache. That will impede schooling.

I'm allergic to cats and dogs but this helped me understand my allergy more! I did find that I'm allergic to some pets more than others. I have some cat and dog owning friends whose houses I've visited and I had a HORRIBLE time due to my allergies, while some friends it's like I never had allergies in the first place. I definitely agree it's because 1) each animal produces varying amounts of the protein, and 2) some people clean their houses more than others 😅 But I also didn't know about the immunotherapy stuff and allergy shots! 2:55 you say that yes this may be a reason because of the amount of saliva, also at the same time you say that it will never go away. but I've trained my body to be immune to small amounts of saliva it is possible the more you slowly expose your self to it. I'm also a groomer that's allergic to dags heavily that I've gotten over.
Don't go to an allergist keep cat allergies off ur med list! Or u won't find Drs who will give u cat companion notes which you'll need if u ever have to move! Or if you're like me and need financial help to pay for my boys expensive diet and meds!
