Did you get an oled or do you still need to be convinced ?
Steam deck is the Swiss Army knife of gaming, handheld gaming PCs are a god send
Dang. So steam deck lets you stream Playstation, Xbox, and Steam games. All in one!
What sold me on steam deck was I could stream xbox and ps5 remote play and emulator
I don't have a steamdeck, but am considering a playstation portal specifically becuase I have solid wifi connection in the house, a massive playstation collecction of games to play from, and a special needs son that pretty much requires us to be with him at all times to make sure he stays safe and house stays together. He loves playing tablet games too, so I've been looking at options to get a controller in his hands that isn't just apple arcade and the playstation portal might be a solid option. Thanks for the review!

What game is this?
Hello, can you please anwear me this question. I consider buing Portal, but I dont have PS5. So I want to play it only to cloud streming with premium subscrition. Do you thing its good idea? Is it worth it? Im not any chalenging player. I just wanna come home after work and play it for few hours to stop thinking about work. I have good wifi connection.
Hey man, check out GeForce Experience Cloud gaming for your Steam Deck. It's a game changer for me. You still need to own the game on steam, and the game you stream needs to be supported, but it bypasses the hardware limitation of the Steam Deck and the lag is unnoticeable to me. Let m know if you decide to try it!
Hi all. This is a fantastic video. Thank you so much! Can I ask as I have a PS Plus sub, can you only use that on the Portal? Is it not yet available on Steam Deck? Trying to decide between both at the moment.
For me man, its the battery life on this portal. Chefs kiss man.
I went 4.5 hrs on GTA online and ended my session with 68% started at 97%
I love this portal lol
Amazing video. Appreciate your honesty about owning both devices.
The steam deck doesn't play some of the best games Out There… You gotta go through so much to make this piece of c*** work… The portal place everything especially now that they gave it the ability to do cloud gaming… The portal hands down the better system….. Steam deck is just a overprise game emulator that sits… Junk
I love that you’re passionate about mobile gaming. You don’t seem to be closed to the idea of any of the handhelds even if you have your preferences because playing on the go (not stuck to one chair in the same room) is awesome.
why is it so ugly? I would way to scared to break the sides off lol.
I always turn the settings to the maximum including 8k resolution 🙁
If your a handheld guy, why don't you have a rog ally X, it the king of handhelds. The power , plus v.r.r , 80 watt battery, and a beautiful screen.
So you definitely need for wifi for both I know the portal but is gaming possible without wifi on the steam deck??
Late to the party but I’ve got a question/am in need of some advice. So I’ve always been a PlayStation gamer. Grew up with it and really just mostly what I’ve know. I do have a computer and some games on steam, but it just never really got me hooked and liked it as PlayStation. But I definitely see the upsides as well of having all your games on steam, mine are just all on PlayStation XD
So here’s the thing. I travel quite a lot and of course it’s quite difficult to bring my PlayStation along. It’s a big heavy thing and not handy to take everywhere XD but there’s nothing quite like getting somewhere and being able to chill by gaming a little. So of course the portal caught my attention. But is it worth it? Does it work when travelling? I’ve read multiple statements saying either yes you can use hotspot or you can’t, you can use it when being multiple 100 kilometres away. But I just can’t really find a definitive answer. So I guess my in short lmao: is the portal worth it as a PlayStation gamer or is the steam deck something to look at? Also cos the price tag is quite a difference 😅
Thank you for reading this essay and taking the time to reply 🫣😂🫶🏼
Comparing the 1200X 800 res to 1080p. THE REASON Steam deck decided to stick with 1200 x800 Res is to be able to play Games at 60 fps AND STILL CANNOT GET THE JOB DONE they've failed Bigtime ive seen games lowered settigns playing at 32 FPS AT A LOWER Settings T_T And then theyve even LOWER RES T_T_T_T_T_T_T_T. GO FOR PlayStation Portal case closed.
The portal rules supreme. I use remote play to connect to PS5 to play Bloodborne, Ace Combat 7 and Black Myth WuKong.
For everything else, including GTA V there's WiFi.
PS Portal just keeps getting better and better.
thats all well and good….if you already own a PS5.. because the game library sucks on portal without owning a ps5!, so its 200 for the portal and 400 for the ps5.. and 17-20 per month for the ps service, id pick the oled steam deck over that any day, for cheaper!
So did you have the list of games setup's for Steam Deck..?
Do I have to have a pc to get a steam deck
I’d rather go with a PC gaming handheld than a PlayStation 5 remote portal handheld
Thanks for your review buddy I got the PlayStation portable because I have a Xbox my favourite 😎
I'm a gamer I got the black Portal coming in tomorrow in a few weeks will get Steamdeck OLED
I have them Both and Love them Both especially when the TV is tied up thanks for review. $199.00 yes its worth it because of the Dual Sense and Haptics. The steam deck is for fun outside or travel as well as home. The steam deck OLED is absolutely fantastic especially for older games
I made some research and Google is telling me that I don't need any suscription unless if you want to play online
So you need the premium subscription and WiFi in order to play games on the Portal? Nah for me it ain't worth it.
And the biggest issue of steam deck, that he don't have ps controller touch button which is needed in a lot games, so that the reason why I thinking to sell my steam deck. There is no tool which emulate ps touch button. So fuck it.
I have both and I play the Portal at home and when I know I will have a great internet connection .All other situations I use the Steam deck.
The fact that the streaming on the SD is better than the Portal, is just shameful. The SD has the back buttons that you could configure or macro to some extent. The portal has a bigger screen and it’s cheaper. That’s about it.
Name that shirt 🔥
When you sitting in front of Dollar General waiting for you moms or Old Lady to come out and hour later and you ain’t got da WiFi, you’ll think different.
Here’s the big offset; STEAM games are cheap….. PS games are the normal high price. I’ll pay more for the Deck and win in the end, with more games and ones that don’t need a WiFi connection.
For someone who dont have a ps5 i say go for portal😂
Welp PlayStation announced a standalone handheld. No internet needed. But who knows when that’ll drop. Apparently soon because the portal was supposed to be stand alone but they felt it wasn’t ready so they did a last minute switch up to put the portal out. If you think about how long the portal has been out. That’s how long they’ve been working on the standalone. Also they knew valve was releasing a standalone so they waited to make a handheld that would be better based on what steam deck users did not like. But as of today. Steam deck all the way.
Sold my steam deck, sold Rog Ally X, bought Portal. I love the simplicity. No long updates, simple menu, no additional apps. Steam deck was okay, but I couldn’t play a lot of games because of anti cheat.
Depends. If you have a PS5 and an extensive Digital Library and/ or high tier subscription, the Portal is totally worth it. If not, then the SteamDeck is a true console that can play generations of games (PC and console) at inexpensive prices in many cases. Minor SteamOS learning curve and all.
I love the portal.
as a handheld person i had got steam deck, backbone and then eventually bought the portal, yet i have no regrets on the portal. the ps5 controller and the sleekness it has is wonderful
Only wish that they would let us cloud stream ps5 games directly onto the Steam deck instead of only the older games kinda wish that I bought the Portal instead.
For me, Steam deck is a no-brainer. Play anytime, anywhere, and Emulate just about everything without Wifi. Or pay a monthly subscription to play only with wifi on. In the end you will pay more with a monthly subscription
The Portal isn’t necessarily cheaper once you factor in paying monthly for cloud streaming. It can be more costly over time.
Sold my LCD Deck for the 512 OLED. You’ll be surprised just how much more amazing it is.
Please can u tell me which is the best portal or oled steam deck
