This is missed a lot by people, but you do not need octoroks to get the modifier! The ghost statues give yellow modifiers, so all you need to do is save and reload until you get what you want. Octoroks are better for repairing gear or modifying decayed weapons, shields or bows.

After I broke my eight fold I went to the dephs and the eight fold blade didn't show up.

One time I took out an entire group Zonai constructs that had 2 captain constructs (one of them were IV) and threw out a bunch of puffshrooms and one shot everything using my eightfold long blade fused with a blue Lynette saber horn
I have a pretty cool story about how I took this weapon to the extreme. I was into late game and I finally decided to free Lurelin Village from the pirates. I wanted to kill all the enemies with a single sneak strike at night without alerting anyone else and before the night ended. My setup was pristine eightfold blade +10 attack fused with a Molduga jawbone and the Evil Spirit set. I decided to make an exception to alert the enemy in the well since they can’t alert anyone about me and so I can see the health bar for progress. After that I began with the ship by sneaking on with a spring so I can begin my plan by killing the lizard enemy since they don’t sleep. Once that was done I killed all the other monsters on the ship with one strike while they were just sleeping. Then I sneaked around in the village killing enemies that were sleeping while being careful of enemies that were on lookout patrol. After a few reloads, I was able to clear out the village of every single pirate on the village before sun came up completing the challenge I set up for myself. It was such an amazing experience on how I was able to one shot Silver and Black enemies while they were sleeping thinks to this op weapon. For anyone who made it to the end of my story thank you so much taking your time to read about my experience playing this incredible game.

If you have bone weapon proficiency armor on and fuse a molduga jaw to the eightfold blade, it'll do 1642 damage in one hit, 2462 damage if you have attack up 3 food

Evil spirit armor+molduga bones give you perfect assasin vibe.
I broke the eightfold blade without fusing it to anything, but the statue gave me a travelers sword instead. 😢
I don’t know babe just dumb luck but for some reason I’ve used five Octa rocks and got durability up five separate times the sparkles popped up and everything
i like to use the other silver lynel horn so i can kill the armored enemys too. maybe i should carry one of each …..

btw if you use the set from the labyrinths you can get sneak 3x and bone dmg up. so you can increase your dmg with using the molduga jaw as fuse matireal and you can also use a atk buff. the question is: is there something that you CAN sneakstrike AND have that high HP? we talking about 1641 dmg with boneUp and 2462 with boneUp and 3x atk buff. and that while you can land more that one sneak hit on an enemy xD
