Personally I like to gag the bite until I can charge the mark but when you are staring down a 200lbs howler rezzy and your recall is cruxing all you can do is pop the grape.
More Great Content from Uncle Garrett! I am frequently astounded by dog people that are anti-crate. Sometimes vehemently.
The ending of the video 😂
But great stuff am learning alot from u❤
1-15 minutes after eating? My 9 week old goes like 5-7 hours later 😂
"They're gonna poop one to fifteen minutes after eating" … my puppy 3 hours later lol
What is, “drowning on the bite”?
crate training is weird to me. I've had dogs of many different breeds and they've never had to be in a crate. They're either on their beds, hanging out in my sons room or outside.
why do americans insist on crate training? There's no reason I have come across to do it.
Help! I trained my dog too well and now all he wants to do is work
First My husband and I have just (sorry late to the game ) found you.
We have had GSD for over 20yrs.
Intermixed w other breeds.
Anyway.
Our 6 yr old GSD IS totally food aggressive and of working with another dog and the other dog doesn’t “get it”
He will attack.
Totally our bad for not correctly correcting this as a 10 month old old (1 st instance)
How neat to correct this? Prong or E collar? As it is once in a great while and NOT the norm.
2nd ?
New rescue puppy is supposed to be 9wks at adoption but I think closer to 6 (one India’s or still erupting along with a molar ) anyway.
He is not super Food motivated with Training. 😢
What should we try instead of food?
Squeaker, praise/pets?
Thoughts?
Thanks Man
And a ton of Praises to you and your little “pack”
My 10 week old malinois x has been potty trained since 7 weeks and not crate trained. He'll go in good crate but he hasn't found it to be his safe space.
Anyone have a good dog training book suggestion? I’ve got an audiobook credit to burn.
I've only watched two videos and I love this guy already! Keep up the great work!
Is there a video somewhere in ur series for dogs that freeze up on leash? I just got a 14 week old cane corso and he absolutely locks up on leash
my dog is terrible he’s stubborn and doesn’t like to learn and we didnt do well training him when he was a puppy not sure what to really do or if its to late to even train him
Hello! "I think many people will be interested to hear from you how to defend yourself if a dog attacks."
We are in the same situation with my chihuahua. We didn't think he would make Christmas, so we celebrated early with him. On the day before he was scheduled to be put down, he woke up and felt good. Zooming around, we decided that he had more in him. I give him steak and potatoes or chicken and rice. He eats two or three pot leaves every day. I don't know why, but Diego has always been a pothead. We have been day to day for 7 months, and we enjoy every single moment with Diego. We will do the right thing for him as long as we can.
You didn't give any details on how to stop the bites, just the names of what they were. I was hoping to get 'how to' videos from you.
Beautiful!!
I have a question. I have 1 dog now and hes getting older so I'm going to be getting a 2nd. Is it better to have them walk on the same side my current dog is trained (left) or better to have one on each side? Sounds basic, but I've never had 2 dogs at once. Just want to set myself up for success
@AmericanStandardK9 Hi! I LOVE your vids you are an amazing trainer, I know you are really busy but can you please advise , I have an american/old english bulldog, he is only 5 months so still training/learning, he pulls really badly for the first few mins on his walk and also starts biting his lead, ive been told to ignore&distract but he isnt interested and its ruining our walks so we were thinking of getting a harness and ir halti. Can you please give me any advice on what you would suggest for pulling/lead biting please? X
Is it true that dogs can only have one leader cus even tho I’m a kid my dog only listens to me ?
That popping the grape trick works great. Echo bit me twice in 30 seconds and was corrected each time. About 18 months later and she still hasn't bitten again. You can get this info and all the puppy (and full training courses) at DIYK9.com.
We took in a 2 year old American Pit Bull from a friend that couldn't keep him. And he's has been a joy around the kids and has had a wonderful personality around kids. But today he chased my sisters boyfriend to the front door growling. I don't know if he was gonna not try to bite him or not. I caught up the dog and carefully but firmly made the dog submit and lay on his side until he calmed down. But I'm try to ask how can get him more accustomed and friendly to incited guests in the home. I don't mind if he is protective. But fearfully growling and running towards family members just isn't good. I NEED to get him to be more friendly to guests and people in general unless directed otherwise. I'm sorry this comment is so long and drawn out. Ive had him here for about a week and I just need some tips or instructions or help. He's too muscular and energetic to have any room for trial and error. He has good habits for the most part but that happening today was a huge opportunity for him end up in big trouble. Any reply or message or anything at all would be so appreciated and a life saver. He is potty trained and calms down. Mid play of I need him to. He gets tons of play time and his recall is improving. Getting him to lay down and idle on standby for more than 2 seconds is a bit of a challenge but he is betting there. They had him on a harness and a leash that is pretty much a chain with a nylon loop for a handle or whatever that material is. The harness is gonna go immediately and he will be getting introduced to muzzle and a prong collar for the foreseeable future. I dont see him thriving on An e collar but I know he could if I was consistent enough. He sorta comes when he wants sometimes but is a young adult now and very very food driven and willing to try to train and please. I I'm so sorry again this is so damn long. I don't know you will reply. but I thought I'd ask because it's not worth the risk
What's popping the grape
Bro can you do a video how to change over the the flat collar from a prong please
What is your opinion on a shar-pei?
So glad this trainer believes in crate training
@AmericanStandardK9 I'm considering getting my 2nd dog (puppy) to my American Staffordshire Terrier. Any tips please on how should I introduce them or how should I choose a puppy that he will accept? thanks.
Clever test98
So I know you are very anti- Shiba Inu, and as a dog groomer, so am I. But today I was shocked when I had a one year old shiba come in for his first groom with us and was absolutely amazing, maybe my best behaved dog of the month. (No growling, nipping, did as told, didn’t fight during nail trimming or blow drying, just stood there and was content and was even affectionate afterwards during brushing.I didn’t really get to chat with the owner because I was very busy today. But next time he comes in, I am definitely asking about what they did with training. Because I have been doing this for a few years now and have worked with probably almost 100 shibas and every single one was a nightmare until today
Is 11 weeks too young for prong and e collars?
I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT CRATING MY DOG…WHAT DOES A DOG DO IN A CRATE IN A EMERGENCY? THEY CANT SAVE THEMSELVES.
haha i have a Cane 7 months old exactly like this one at 1:10 a beautiful girl blue eyes but she is crazy like i never seen before, she is biting stealing things ruining all my lighters jumping on people .. im looking here to get some training for her ! great content sir
What does drowning on the bite mean?
What’s the clicker you use love the videos keep them coming I have a 12 year old german shepherd
I want to get a new pup but would love to know how to train him in the right way
You have a Frenchie in the thumbnail. Those things are not dogs. They are creatures created by humans that shouldn’t exist.
How do I get into dog training/ if you had to start again what would you do? I want to train dogs normally for a while then maybe board and train then eventually train guard dogs
We miss you in Florida
