I have had "Shepskies"(German Shepherd Dog(GSD)/Husky Cross) in my life since 1985. The cross is the best companion/exercise buddy who loves people unless that person means to attack, then the GSD comes out. I had two such dogs save me from two instances of armed robbers.
Wow wished I had a Siberian husky FRFR ❤❤❤❤
I have a very stereotypical female Siberian Husky named Sophia. And a rescue Shepsky (German Shepherd/Husky mix) named Ghost. Ghost listens, Sophia doesn’t but they are both very loving and sweet.
My husky, Storm, keeps my 3 akitas on their toes and in shape. She's a little over a year younger at 5 mo old. They spoil her rotten and she is very sassy with them. She's 1/3 the size of my alpha male and if he hears her cry or scream (which she does often as a husky) he will find and protect her just like a big brother. He will also allow her to steal his treats even though he can easily overpower her (I told you she is spoiled).
We lost our other young husky, Ginger, to a coyote attack last year. All of us missed her so much but when we brought Storm home, she was the missing piece in our hearts and has brought us so much joy.
We live on 5 acres in the AZ high desert so they have plenty of room to run and the high temperature is closer to Denver temps rather than Phoenix, so not too hot for these snow dogs.
Thx for reading my comment and I hope whoever is reading this has an amazing husky that brings joy & love to their lives.
My female husky cannot stand the harness 🥲
He’s a puppy and he chews up every thing
I have a Husky ,,I had a lot of Dogs ,I am 78 yrs old ,Best ,Smartest dog I ever had , my Son and I Share
Make sure you take them out once a day to pull a sled in the snow for 50 miles.
Ps we howl everynight by 11 pm. She schedule not mine.😂❤
Im Native from New Hampshire and Norther. Just adopted a husky from north Carolina. She is amazing and never really has seen snow. Home next week. Thank you for honestly showing all aspects of these special loving breed.
Don't forget there to mention their high prey drive
My dog cannot be around Chihuahuas or cats
RIP🙏
I have two Huskies, one of them is a pure bred male, the other is a husky, chow chow, and border Collie female, the male is old, while the female is younger.
My Aggs is 7 now. I can take off lead and she stays around me. If distracted by birds, and far away, say on a dog beach, I can still call her back. She's super quiet, only started barking alongside our Jack Russel, who she helped raise. She's fine home alone, although much to do with having our JR and Birds I think, as company. Doesn't dig up the yard at all, past puppy stage. Saves that for elsewhere, esp the beach. Can and does say a few words. Does let me sleep in on weekends, but during the week, paws me to get up and take her for a walk.
She's so communicative, though her eyes, gestures, and vocals. Love her to bits.
I have a rescue ChowSky. She refuses to howl, but talks to go out.
I love my husky, give them what they need and you’ll have a great dog,but everything you read or watch is true,I go biking with mine and it’s the best thing ever, the odd run here and there, plenty of walks, play fights in the evening 👍🏼
I’m trying to figure out if I want a Husky, a Black Lab or a German Shepherd as a companion. I have not made a decision yet.
I had a white Siberian Husky with blue eyes,he was not your ordinary husky. He didnt howl only when he wanted attention or when his food/water ran out. He did escape off leash if you let him. He was fine alone as most times he wanted his me time. When wanted to be around us he would. He loved sun bathing and was good at vets/groomers. They always praised him for not making their ears bleed 😂. I miss him everyday, he died this year in march.
Yes I am my husky name is shadow❤
I hike 2to3 hours with my Husky off leash and she always stay close to me,looking back to see if Iam still there
I only leave for a once a month shopping trip and short 15 min errands. She cries the entire time im gone. Only time she Howls!.
However, she is off leash a lot. She doesn't wander away from her dad. Maybe because I allowed her to once. I stalked her out of sight. When she realized she didn't realize I was there she tracked me down.
Now she doesn't wander.
She also has a recall sound I make.
She's one of a kind! She HATES the cold too!
1:35 WRONG. You City folk have NO CLUE how to train a dog. If you run it a mile, or run WITH it a mile a leash is not needed, Eventually youll have trained it that YOU are the PACK LEADER, the LEAD DOG oin the sled group, You are its master. A leash does nothing but punish. Think im full of it and just a random commenter? Check out an actual professional – Beckman's Dog Training here on youtube. He will shatter this for you…. Professionally.
I have a husky for 5 years I leave him alone for more than 5 hours a day and he's totally fine I let him off the leash he doesn't run anywhere I guess it's how you train your dog might as well trained and I have no problem with him
They are wonderful beasts,,I adore my girl (Sochi)..My experience is similar, although she can go off leash and has excellent recall. We have an electric fence and she has not attempted to breach it for about a year and 1 half…she is 2. She is very affectionate. She gets a 2 mile walk daily plus a short morning walk. She is alone for about 6 hours a day. I am amazed at her sense of time…at 6 am she jumps on the bed to wake us..and play. At 7 pm she is giving not so subtle hints that it is time for her walk. She does not go off leash while walking through town, only on our weekend hikes in the woods…she loves to splash around in the streams..no matter how cold. She plays like hell with the Red Lab (her boyfriend) next door a few times a week…a good Husky is tired Husky…I love this girl. Sochi is my second Husky, I lost my Stella about a year ago. While there are many similarities, there are many differences too…I still miss my Stella. They are a wonderful and beautiful breed but they are not for low energy people.Something not mentioned is that they should NEVER be shaved. Their fur protects them from heat as well as the cold
I rescued Page the husky I have now after I saved her from a busy highway.Took several hours.Gave her to a person with 25 acres and brought her back because she chased chickens.Had her 4 years now just raised my fence, pretty simple.😢
I love my girl. I can leave her alone for a few hours with the kids gone and everyone and she seems to be great. Thank God I have four twenty pound felines to keep her occupied and distracted lol
We are on our 3rd set of Huskies. Just lost our last 2 both within 3mo in dramatic fashion..I was devastated. I couldn’t go without my Huskies, the pain is to much and a huge void. We recently adopted a 2 year old rescue female. She loved my Wife and daughter, but was terrified of me, it was really bumming me out let alone the recent loss. We always intended to get her a companion, but was concerned her being scared of me and could spill over to companion. After talking to everyone I could..I wasn’t getting any good advice. I had a feeling that a companion could help..so out of desperation we adopted a handsome 2 year old male from shelter asap. She loves him and she started showing me affection out of jealousy👍🏼..just thought I’d share❤️
I got mine as a rescue. She is 50% red Siberian husky – I just learned that. She is 30% pitbull, and 20% lab. This explains a lot about her – especially the howling! She is an absolute love. I have another rescue – a pitbull (70%) mixed w cane corso. They play hard non-stop. Instead of those haunting blue eyes she has haunting gold eyes. It all makes sense now. She is definitely my dog. And it explains how she can stay outside in our cold weather while my pitbull can’t. They are a perfect pair! I did teach her to respect the cats.

I have a Husky Lab mix I got from a shelter. I have had her 12 years. She was completely house broke, walks on leash, understand commands but will run off if not kept on leash. She is healthy, sweet, loving, and a talker.
