How much is the challenge?
i doubt youll read this, but ive trained many man many many dogs in my 40 years of life, i currently have a 5 yr old off leash chihuahua with 100% recall – i swear, may the heavens open and swallow me whole i fi lie, the little dog will legit move when i move and stop on a dime when i stop. i just got a little pup, 5 months old. can so far do any trick i ask of him easy peasy, seriously……every other dog ive owned including my 5yr old, didnt pick up tricks THIS FAST…..however i cannot, i do mean cannot get him to walk properly with me. its to the point where i really do not want to walk him anymore. for a 5 month old dog he is POWERFUL. i mean pitbull sled dog drag you around the streets and not get tired puller. ive had pullers in the past and successfully got them to walk properly after a couple months and improvement seen in days….but i have run out of tricks and tips. now i know it might be partly my own anxiety of walking him, and even when im not anxious it doesnt help at all. im almost at the point of rehoming him because of this to a larger property with a fenced yard. please help help help. ive gone through so many videos asked all the creators of them, and no one answers. and nothing is working. i can train horses, ive trained cats, ive trained carrier pigeons, ive trained almost 100 dogs, and this puppy has me so stumped that ive exhausted all my resources other than a paid trainer/walker. help.

I find these videos kinda frustrating. Very informative but I must take my puppy out on a leash to do her business. I can’t build to that. None of these leash instructors seem to address this.
My dog has figured out that he has to wait to go for the food so that I don’t take it away, but he refuses to look at me in the eye even though he knows his name and usually responds to it. Any tips? I suppose it’s just repetition, or I need tastier treats?

That will never teach your dog how to behave properly when leash walking. I can guarantee you will fail if you use this method.
My dog just bites the leash and doesn’t let me walk him how can I teach him so we go for walks especially when the weather gets warmer
