Title: Large (likely very reliable) USB SSD
Review: This is a large USB SSD (in my case I got the 8TB model). Since this is a Crucial product, and Crucial has a long history of selling quality products, I expect to get years of use out of this drive. I did previously have 2 smaller Crucial SSDs, that have both already given years of use without failing (so I suspect I’ll get the same from this 8TB SSD).I first learned about Crucial years ago from a colleague at work. He pointed out that Crucial was (at that time) just a USA based computer memory maker. However, the thing about Crucial memory was that it had a much lower failure rate than most of the memory made/sold by other companies. Essentually Crucial memory was of a higher quality than memory made by most of the compitition. While Crucial also charged a little more than the compitition, in this case you got what you paid for. And since the time/cost of diagnosing/fixing equipment using broken memroy can be substantial, paying a little more for quality memory from Crucial can easily end up saving money in the long run.Since I have now retired, I currently only buy Crucial products for personal/home needs. However, I still remember the lesson that it can be worth it to spend a little extra for quality products that will last. And since I can’t remember even one time a Crucial product has failed on me, I still will buy Crucial products when they aren’t massively more costly than the compitition. In the case of this SSD, I got it to upgrade the storge on my XBox gaming console. Since this is use case Crucial didn’t make the drive for, I did have to take a couple extra steps to make this work. Specifically I needed to supply my own fast USB A to USB C cable (as the XBox only has USB A ports, not USB C ports) and I also needed to let the XBox reformat the SSD to whatever file format it uses for storing games on (as the XBox can’t use the file format this drive shipped with). But once those steps were done, the XBox happily saw this USB SSD as valid “external storage” for use by the gaming console (and I have already moved a number of my games onto that newly purchased storage).NOTE: I didn’t pay full price for this SSD. Instead I took advantage of a large “limited time” sale that slashed the price by close to $200 (bringing the price down to under $470, including the required sales tax). While this is still a lot of money for a toy (a gaming console upgrade), it is still much less than it would have been had I paid full price for this 8TB SSD.

Title: Tiny and packs a wallop!
Review: I have a 2017 iMac [18,2], which has the dreaded Fusion Drive. I have never hated the 1TB internal Fusion Drive, even now after such a polarizing contrast with the Crucial 2TB external SSD Drive. I still like it, however the comparison is like a night and day difference. The Crucial SSD Drive does everything smoother, more efficiently, and FASTER.I’m still using the iMac Fusion Drive running macOS Ventura, but only as a fallback macOS due to the fact that I’m using Open Core Legacy Patcher [OCLP] on the Crucial SSD running macOS Sequoia. Thus, I boot from the SSD Drive 10-times faster with practically no fan noises or heat issues. And all my app run perfectly.I wish I had done this sooner.

Title: Amazingly Fast – 8TB!!!
Review: 5 stars ! Huge thanks to Crucial, Amazon, Customs, and UPS International for the lightning-fast global shipping—I got this in just 5 days! After researching 8TB SSDs, I nearly went with Samsung’s T5 Evo but found that Crucial (U.S.) had an 8TB version at a great deal! Reviews showed Crucial was faster, and they weren’t wrong! I needed to free up space on my phone, so I backed up my phone’s videos (~600gb+) in just 4 hours instead of the estimated 20 hours—perfect timing before the Guns N’ Roses concert! I noticed that the SSD did get warm, but a small desk fan helped. This SSD is a game-changer—the world’s smallest 8TB external drive, IP65-rated for dust/water, and built to survive a 3m drop. Plus, it comes with a 3-year warranty. Hope it lasts!

Title: Micron Sent Me a Lemon SSD
Review: Was excited to try the new 8tb external portal SSD. Unfortunately, I plugged it in and it would not start up or be recognized by my computer. No lights, no humming, no engine running, just cold hard nothing when I plugged it in. I waited a month for it to be delivered and was DOA from the jump. Going back to the Samsung T7 Shield.

Title: tiny!
Review: this drive is half the size of my samsung 4tb (which im expanding from). im so impressed with the size.the included cord is sort of a joke, i couldnt really use it because its too short to rest the drive on anything since it just hangs from my pc tower & too close to my tablet & i dont own a laptop (which im sure was the only thing the cord would be useful for).i ended up going through all my other longer cords & discovered they were all usb2.0 except for 1.the 2.0 bottlenecks at around 40mbps, & the 3.0 cord i already had bottlenecks at approx 250mbps.i also tried c to c on my pc towers c usb. same speed as the 3.0 a usb ports (maybe even intermittenly slower).its really only gonna affect the first large migration (which took about 15 hrs).it did not seem to get overheated, but i did rest it above the pc towers overhead fans for good measure the entire time.amazon never lets me comment on price hikes but i think they dont care if its a sale compliment-the price is what sold me, usually its $100 per terabyte, i was dreading that maybe these are defective so the company was clearing stock, that may still be the case but im keeping backups on hard disc just in case. but i paid $440 for this, & its a lot of money but its a good deal for what you get.i still reordered a 2nd one though.i really wish there was larger options. a 10tb version would be ideal for me. you can fill up ssds to capacity & on windows you always lose like 1tb (this 8tb drive only has 7.27tb usable storage, & probably .25 of that has to be clear to avoid reducing speed & allowing room for the transfer cache).

Review: Crucial X10 2TB External Portable SSD Drive :There seems to be a lot of online discourse about this product and its ability to lose data especially when used with a Macbook. From the limited reading I did on this, I think the problems arose from people using the wrong file format for IOS devices etc So in other words they started using it straight away without formatting it to the right filesystem.Well, I am using it on Windows and Android and I haven’t formatted it but so far nothing has gone wrong with the data I am testing it with. The transfer rate is indeed very fast and I am happy to see that my Android media player picked it up with ease and was able to play my media back smoothly without issues. It is a very small, lightweight device which is impressive but I have a good idea what might be inside it, which isn’t rocket science.I’ve seen people attach this directly to their iPhones and use it as a storage method for their photo shoots and long-form filming because the iPhone can be set up to do very fast and large file saving and this storage device can keep up with it.It seems to have a lot of possibilities but for now, its current job is to be a low-profile storage location for my hidden media player.
