It amazes me just how much bang for your buck you can get if you choose an Android tablet over an iPad these days. While the cheapest new iPad will set you back at least $300, you can get some absolutely amazing deals if you’re happy to go with Android.

A good example of this is the Tabwee T20 that I’ve been testing for the past few weeks. This tablet has a lot to offer, and right now you can grab one for only $120. And you’re getting a lot for your money.
I go into reviewing cheap smartphones and tablets with quite low expectations, forgetting just how good most of them are. This is thanks to how rapidly processing power and storage capacity grow every year, and how cheap octa-core processors and 256GB of storage have become.

The T20’s specs are everything you need for a essential tablet: a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, a decent octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM (expandable to 16GB using virtual RAM), and 256GB of storage (which you can boost by up to 2TB using a microSD card).
The screen is big and adequate for the job. It’s bright enough to cope with most situations. At 150 pixels per inch, it’s not so dense that you see the pixels at normal viewing distance, but again, for the money, the screen is more than enough. I’ve had no problems using it for extended periods for web browsing, watching my favorite YouTube channels, and even doing work on it.
The tablet comes with a silicone case with an integrated folio cover that folds to make a stand. It’s basic, but it does the job.
The Tabwee T20 is thin and light and highly portable.

The tablet runs Android 15, and it runs it well. The interface is pretty smooth, and apps open and run with minimal lag (unless you’re a big gamer). It’s no speed demon and not going to win any benchmarking awards, but that’s not what this tablet is built to do.
I recommend boosting the RAM to the full 16GB using the virtual RAM option for the best, smoothest experience, as this doesn’t cost you anything other than a bit of storage space.
The 5,000mAh battery gives this tablet quite a runtime without adding too much weight. Even under heavy gaming, I got about five hours, and this increased to about eight hours of video playback.

The tablet is Widevine L1 certified, so you can stream HD content from services such as Netflix and Disney+.
You get a lot of accessories with the Tabwee T20.

And at just 412 g/14.5 oz, the tablet is light enough for carefree handling without causing achy hands or numb wrists.
The tablet has an 8-megapixel Google Lens-integrated rear camera (it looks like there are two cameras on the back, but there aren’t) and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, perfect for social media snaps and video conferencing.

The package also includes a stylus, keyboard, and even a wireless mouse for tasks that require more precision than fingers on the display. While I’m a bit spoiled by the keyboard I use on my iPad Pro, I need to remind myself that the Apple Magic Keyboard costs $350. I’ve used the T20’s keyboard to do real work, and it does the job.
ZDNET’s buying advice
If you’re looking for an Android tablet that is equipped to handle basic tasks, and that is going to cost a fraction of what a similar iPad set up would cost (an iPad, a keyboard and an Apple Pencil will set you back at least $720), then the Tabwee T20 is worth a look. The list price of this tablet is $220, but right now you can get $100 off, making it one amazing deal.
