I love cats, they are wonderful
I used to feed a feral cat outside. He got friendly enough for me to microchip him so he could use my cat flap. 8 years later he now is inside more than my pet cat & sleeps on my bed or snuggled against me during the day.
Oh yes, I was met cats . Unexpectedly
At a particularly rough time in my life, I was out one day for a walk in my neighbourhood park when I came upon a very large tabby cat who was just the friendliest kitty. Too friendly to be a stray, but she had no collar on. I took her home, as it was scheduled to rain later that evening. I already had one cat at home, but I worked in the film industry that required my being away for long hours, so my Himalayan cat tended to get lonely as she was very attached to me. I thought this tabby who was at least twice her her size (I realized later that she was a Maine Coon mix) would be great company for her.
However, I had to make sure she didn't belong to one of the neighbours, gotten out and got lost or something. So I took her in to the Toronto Humane Society which would put post her picture on their website incase she had an owner out there worrying about her.
To make a long story short, no one claimed her after a week, (I checked in on her everyday), I know that was my cue to go and bring her back home. Ofcourse I had to go through the usual adoption process. Found out that she was five years old. She would prove to be one of the most challenging but loving cats I ever had, and one of my best adoption decisions.
It took two weeks for her and Princess (my Himalayan to start getting along). I named her Duchess and she remained with me for over 15 years when she crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge at just a few months short of her 21st birthday in 2019. Princess went at the age of 17 in 2007. Duchess used to love car rides and did a cross country trip from Alberta to Ontario without a complaint, except wanting to stop every couple hundreds of miles to get out and stretch her legs. Yes, she would walk on a leash and harness. It was like having a dog in a cat's body…simply the best of both worlds. While I have adopted two other cats since, I still miss Duchess so much it hurts. Like Princess, she was also very….maybe even more attached to me. There was just something extra special about that 20 pound ball of fur with a 200 Cat IQ to boot.
Add such a cute story ❤😂
Is he living in a country house on the outskirts of town, or is he living in a high-rise apartment?
i was adopted by two strays. one a gray tabbeyfemale i've named Drift because she likes to drift around corners allowing her to dig in for more traction, and another a male orange tabbey i call Red. both were abandoned by neighbors and showed up asking for help. they both have jobs now. they hunt and keep guard. i treat them like the royalty they are. during holidays we all eat like kings for a week sharing leftovers.
My wife and I have rescued three cats and they love us as much as we love them
of course, several times… nothing but heartbreak, all of them. Of course.
Found 2 kittens all alone in my back yard. Hand fed them for 3wks & then found mama cat & 2 more kittens. Got all of them in the house for the winter & keeping all of them
Have welcomed many strays. Usually cats. One with 3 kittens. (They all lived out their lives with us.) Had way too many “housecats” n dogs who all got along. Dogs seemed to watch out for their felines. Still have 3 of the cats – ages 12, 14 n 18. (I’m now 82.)
Yes our Kitty feline who adopted us is on my bed now. She just arrived one day several years ago. I sought her owners in our suburb to no avail. She had been spayed but isn't a feral. Obedient girl with a taste for curried food. She has relocated home with my son and I twice over the years. My girl and daily companion ❤
Yes my best buddy cash died my black and white cat and now I have a orange cat named Jones he looks like the cat in.the movie alien My brother and I named him Jones
Yes!!! I had a stray follow me home, begging me to take her in. Its been a year and I cant imagine life without her. She is mentally ill and bites and scratch me all the time. She loves me and I love her.
I feed a family of ferals that were born under my apartment. This summer most of the last litter didn't make it and the last kitten was sick and I got him medical treatment for a respiratory infection. He is still with me and in great health.
Wow wow, supper come knockin 😋
SNOW AND PALM TREES?
God bless you for taking this sweet cat in and for keeping her and her kittens. 💕🐾
Some of my cats are strays. I had one that I named T2 that just one day walked into my house and never left. I had him until he passed I believe in his twenties.💕🐾
We've now got 4 cats obtained this way
I had female cat that fell in love with y Jack Russell terror and would play with him in the morning when I walked him. I never had a cat before. One day she walked right in the house and she stayed.
I like the "snowy dawn" on top of the palm tree. Where did this person live again??
You bored the shit out of me could not get through it
Yep. 2 strays came to my house and they have been here since. That was 5 years ago.
I have two kitties right now that I rescued.
When it was mentioned she wasn’t eating I knew motherhood was soon to be. I’m VERY used to unexpected guests. Thankfully it’s not like some people suddenly finding them in their home. Especially when they have no pets.
It almost seems that this cat was abandoned by a previous owner who realized the cat's condition. This is a maddening all too common occurrence that I wish they would deal with more humanely.
What an absolutely beautiful and heartwarming story….. Thank you The Unusual ;)’
FICTION
The story is heartwarming. I love cats! The Visio did not match the Audio-storyline! A tall palm tree moving gently in the rage, in a Vidio about a Pregnant Cat rescued in a Snow Storm?! AI being used on the people! Duh!
We had 1 awesome kiddy name Simon, Simon brought to us 3 more fur babies. Simon has left us now to be with his friends over the rainbow bridge. Miss you Buddy.
Yes. I had a beautiful orange kitten just show up one day. He was alone, ( I looked for others ) and he was starving. So I of course fed him and he has been my baby ever since. He is a huge fur ball now. 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We had a black cat that came with our house. I have always avoided cats do to an asthmatic allergy to them. But, this cat did not trigger attacks as long as I didn’t sleep with him. He had a notched ear, and eventually lost an eye to a battle. We turned him into an indoor cat, and pampered him. He lived to be about 23 we think. I’ll always remember the one eyed, notched ear pirate kitty that stole my heart.
OK you lost me early. "A biting cold" with the picture of a swaying palm tree????
I had similar experience 30 years ago.
