My late fury companion Maggie wasn't overjoyed at the thought of going to the Vet, but she never got dramatic. She would walk in nicely and she stuck to me like glue. My cogri absolutely loves going to the vet. She has no fears and even when she is in the car on our way to the vet, she gets all excited when she recognises landmarks along the way and realises where we are going. The vet is her happy place!

Why do humans laugh when a dog is terrified of going to the vet? Dogs can smell and dogs remember and what happens at the vet that would scare them? duh? To a dog who can't be told he's gonna get a painful shot or put in a cage for hours after a surgery, it's doubly terrifying.

It's interesting because for humans (or me at least) it's the IDEA of what is going to happen or what might go wrong rather than the pain (during the doc/dentist, etc) creating any aversion… IE, imaginary fear over actual learned fear/aversion.

Some of these dogs were literally shaking in fear! Poor things. Vets need to make an effort to make this experience less intimidating for their animal clients.

I don't think they should purposefully cause the animals distress by mentioning the vet like that, for a 'funny reaction' for a video. The dog may have had a very bad experience or trauma linked to the vet, why do you want to exacerbate that? You find that funny?

This was interesting, because it shows just how intelligent Dogs are. (for those who don’t already know) But I don’t think people should laugh at them… Apart from the fact animals do not like to be laughed at (particularly Dogs) they’re distressed… How would we like it if people laughed at our reaction to being distressed? They should be petted. It’s a shame; they should not be made fun of. Then they’re expected to go on loving those who are making fun of them… Sometimes Dogs are just too loyal for their own good…
Needles are archaic. There are at least two other newer methods that are being worked on, but they obviously have not succeeded yet. It looks like a new injection method is needed not just for humans but for animals as well.
It's PTSD especially if they're rescued from a dog pound.

This is why i hope i never have to take my pet to the vet to be euthanized. A cold office and a cold table, strangers and other pets making their noises, smells. Its traumatic to start with for alot of pets.
My 4 legged Baby loves going to the Vet! He was dropped off by someone on the Coldest night of the year, that year in a box with nothing, not even a Blanket. He was very sick, when the Vet found him, she thought that he was a baby pig, because his head was swollen. When his Health improved and the swelling went down the Vet realized that he was indeed a puppy. The Vets office had a picture of him on the counter, when I saw the picture I immediately fell for him. I told the vet this. So I brought my other dog In to meet him and She also immediately fell for him. She adopted him as her son! Love Pups!❤🐶🐾❤
