This is getting ridiculous. Will they remake it for every generation of consoles to sell it again at the full price?
Part 1 is 90 bucks in canada, and with no discount for those who bought even digitally on pstore the ps4 remaster.
That way too greedy to me, it is a really great upgrade in tech it seems, but gameplay seems minimal in upgrade, same environment, enemy encounters etc, no expanded exploration, added enemies etc.
For those who never bought it, its a good buy, once on sale.
But for previous buyers, it really should be like 20$ max upgrade.
Naughty dog are pretty greedy, or Sony with their nd games,
Uncharted 4 has a 15$ upgrade that is just about only a 60 fps update that could have been on the ps4 version.
Anyhow, gonna wait a long time until its low on sale, already played it a couple times..
there's something about the eyes in the original. unmatched
massively prefer the art direction of the characters in the old game but the new environment is far better along with character texture detail
The Last of Us remastered for the PlayStation 4 is still my favorite
This is actually amazing. I remember playing on ps3 at a friends. Bought a ps4 to play it and was blown away by the experience and how much better it looked. This is a far greater visual jump than that. Truly beautiful!
Am OK with the ps4 version I see no need to repay for a game already owned & beat what's next will buy a new version for PS6 someday..all that time should have been spend on making a new game

The world looks mostly better but the characters models are worse. There's something so uncanny about them
3:42, 4:10 IMO some of these shots look better in the original, the lighting seems much flatter in the remake. I think maybe the original was trying harder to push for a more cinematic feel, and also this remake has to do all the lighting in realtime (though that shouldnt be a real setback) … oh well.
The last of us is a game that is ahead of its time. It may have first came out in 2013, but it is hands down the best looking game of that year. Evan with the PS4 remaster the game still looks like a modern-day newly released game
Picked up both the PS4 Remaster and part 2 for $9.99 on PSN. Already had the Physical copies but got them for my Digital PS5. Idk I’ll probably get this down the line I’dont need it right now
This is not a Remake it's a Remastered, The Last Of Us Part 1 Remastered from Upgrade Graphics This is the only game they use unreal engine 5 to look like Alan Wake Remastered, it's Part 1 Remastered
So is the gameplay better or not? Don't really care about visuals. Anyone know? Just finished part 2 and the AI in it is really good. I went straight back and played the start of part 1 remastered and the AI is laughably bad in comparison. They just stand facing walls etc waiting for you. I easily defeated Robert and all his crew at the docks without firing a shot. 🤦♂️ No way I'd buy the PS5 version if it's just the same as that but i don't know.. 🤔
Lol, this was such a laughable and unnecessary remake. Comparing it RE4 HD and RE4 Remake. That one is night and day. This one is arguably difficult to discern differences.

The fact that this is full price for people that own the remake makes this absolutely not worth it for them. Only worth the money if its your first playthrough , you own a PS5 and don't want to play multiplayer.

ps4 remastered owners should have got a $24.99 upgrade option. This isn't light years ahead of the remaster especially on a next gen system.

Maybe the dev's intention was to reach out to new generations who haven't played PS3 era games? I could see there will be a split in fans between those who buy it and don't.
But releasing the old title with the latest graphics might draw some attention from those who played only the part 2.
It might not be a huge hit, but I could see why they did this.
£60 for a graphic update is pretty steep after already buying it for ps3 / ps4 can’t really justify buying it again for ps5 😅😂

There's no doubt, I must have this remake in my life!
I have mixed feelings, on the one hand I'm glad they updated the first one with the graphics engine of the second one and that they reworked the environments and improved the facial expressions.
On the other hand I find that in some scenes there is a total change of atmosphere, especially because of the lighting and the choices made on the colors.
Some passages seem colder and less bright to me and I don't understand this choice because on this point it wasn't the engine that limited things, it was clearly a choice of artistic direction.
Why go back to the art direction of the time? To offer a homogeneous side with the second one by giving colder tints and more greyish environments at times.
What shocked me was the comparison on the scene of the fall of the scaffolding at the end of left behind.
In the original the area is bright with warm colors and in the remake it is dark with cold colors.
So yes for the porting to a new engine, but no for the deep modifications of the ambiences of the first one which in my opinion betray the initial artistic direction, it will clearly not be the same game anymore.
If its built from the ground up for PS5, than why does it look like a PS4 game?

I really see little to no reason for this remake to exist. The improvements are nice but most of us have already finished the remastered version like 10 times just a few years ago. It would make sense for them to remake the game 20 years later but now so soon?. Cash grab. It's as if they want to make peace with all the fans they lost from part 2
