> son of Rome.
you call yourselves specialists?! IT WILL RUN GAMES NOT STREAM!!!
your going down microsoft with your windows, DirectX and your xbox 720.
I bet Steam is blowing out of Bill Gates' ears.
This is the last generation of consoles, Valve is decupling PC gaming from Windows, relieving our PC’s from the overhead of MicroCrap, DirectX and preparing for Gaming as a Streaming service. The Steam Machines will bring the openness of the PC, user generated content and the Steam service to the living room connecting developers directly to their user base. It’s going to be interesting to see how the current big 3 respond.
They stated today they would never have any exclusive content made for steam machine by valve
Why is Jeff the host that jerk doesn't even play games all he does is push cod and microsoft
The host looks like Lazlo from gta5
They expect people to have thin clients streaming all the media in 10 years and yet ISPs can't update the backbone fast enough to keep up with game developers. Can you imagine a company like Comcast keeping prices where they are if everyone started downloading an extra 50 Gb of data every month? Playstation wants to do Day1 digital for PS4 now. Unless ISPs suck it up and build a new infrastructure in the next 10 years, while keeping investors happy, streaming media is a bust. See Onlive.
Half-Life 3 Confirmed.
jeoff reminds me of how gaming industry and game awards is all about PR now.. and not gamer centric at all
I agree with you to a degree but some people are just not tech savvy. You run into more issues with things not working the way they should whether the game is getting certain error messages or downloading user fixes online, consoles don't have that hassle and why many people will chose them instead.
"the rise of steam" I see what you did there.
Pac's a cool kid
I like how you call somebody a fanboy and come out swinging as a major fucking league fanboy.

Am I the only one who was thinking "NOOOOOOO! Wait for a sale!" before they clicked "Add To Cart" on Shogun: Total War?
Derp derp Doritos! A commercial enterprise did commercials! I am so genuinely upset!
I don't really care about steam
I have a steam box already in my bathroom
I cannot wait for SteamOS. An actual open operating system for people to tinker with and modify to improve. Fuck closed, proprietary bullshit from Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft.
I can't see valve releasing games exclusively just for a different OS, doesn't make sense with their open vision of gaming. Windows will still be the most versatile OS for everything else most people need.
You don't have piracy with Steam with games for Ł5
In theory. Linux is still very young for gaming and for OEMs to pick up on.
Hey Geoff, Have some Doritos on be BITCH!
Whatever you say PC remains (for me) the best gaming platform.
Whoa first time I see what Garnet Lee actually looks like, and it's actually nothing like I expected him to look like.
Doritos in a bowl with Mountain Dew poured on top and you got a new cereal.
Steam OS is going to be free and dedicated to game processing, taking away the dominion Windows has which hardly pushes gaming at anymore than a snail's pace because of their shitty Xbox.
Steam Box isn't "low end low cost".
me too
I love Doritos
its not even out yet for you to say that
