Can you run Steam on your desktop PC and play the new Call of Duty?
I heard it won't because it has Ricochet, and they will ban you for life if you're using Proton or any adapter to play any game with Ricochet anti-cheat.
The xanmod broke my setup. Forums show its been broken for a month and the solutions are way over my head.
My software manager is stuck on generating cache what do I do
Would be a good idea after doing all these steps to perform a snap shot right? Possibly set it up, do one after a successful basic install and update then a 2nd snap shot after everything's done and updated? I have 3 machines, one is Windows 10, other Windows 11 the 3rd is an older 4th gen Intel GTX 1060 budget gamer experiment PC which will be the guinea pig to play with Linux Mint. I want to learn all I can, the quirks, the terminal commands and best packages before migrating the other machines to a Linux distro. BTW, why choose Mint over the other distros that are supposedly already setup for gaming? Is Bazzite, Nobara, Catchy OS more for advanced Linux users? Liked and subbed the channel to learn more. Thanks.
i wonder what % of window users will be in 2026-2030 and how window will react
But what if I wanna game without Steam? Say I wanna run games I bought from GOG?
First time ever messing with Linux. If you're not an educator of some sort, the world is missing out. You made this a breeze! Thanks!
I've distro hopped now and then over the years, (and have other OSes on other drives/machines) but I always end up coming back to Mint as my daily Linux driver. I'm a patient gamer anyway, and rarely play shooters, so I'm not worried about wringing every last FPS from my games. I just like experimenting, hence the hopping, but in the last month, I've tried both Bazzite and CachyOS and had various glitches so it's back to Mint! Edit (to add the most important part – hit post too quickly!): Thanks for this video of tips so I can tune up my Mint install for smoother gaming!
can't find steam tho what should l do
if you have an Nvidia GPU you dont need to update your MESA.
Flatpak version could be better option with newer drivers if you use AMD GPUs
More of an arch user myself but clicked just to see how well LM performs in gaming nowdays, thanks!
Still a bit new, but can I ask why flatpak isn't recommended for Steam?
I installed the flatpak version and haven't had any issues, yet, but wanted to make sure I had all the info.
Mint would've been my choice but it unfortunately doesn't work with the 9060xt yet
11:00 proooobably a good time to open timeshift one more time lmao
I can’t get any output on my monitor since installing mint
How do you hook a gaming control up to it? I've tried Xbox X controller and it won't work.
Mint (and Linux in general) seems to have issues when it comes to hybrid laptops. I ended up actually getting a better experience over on Pop OS, I highly recommend it as an alternative to Mint. It's just as easy to use, and doesn't have any of the glaring bugs that Mint currently has.
Linux is not really compatible with my amd graphics card from 2018. Have been trying all fixes. Will have to reroll win 10
4:15 I can't really go along with the mouse settings. I had some problems with the mouse clicking on its own if “constant” was selected. Most modern gaming mice have internal memory for the configuration of DPI etc., which should be used. This can be set under Linux with “Piper”.
I was able to achieve the best results here with the "device default" and the slowest speed. The speed is now determined by the mouse Hardware, and no longer by the OS. otherwise a good video for beginners and advanced users, thanks!
i tried apex legend and pubg it doesnt work.
12:01 i am getting an error saying i have unmet dependencies tried upgrading updating and yet i cant install the packages
Hello everyone.
I have an AMD Ryzen 9, so Zen 4, but there is no linux-xanmod-x64v4 package. Does anyone have a solution for me? best regards.
im just converting from microsoftcrap to linux mint im a noob but im loving it hate wonwzy now they have turned it into a phone and i hate them to.
I have a problom with mint any download manager i install and use doesn't download the files immediately like idm on windows
I do have windows 11 on my main ssd but I do have linux mint on my second ssd which works really well. I almost want to fully switch over to mint but idk just yet since I still got some things that are windows only.
Excellent video.
So much needed to do before you can play games. I considered Linux Mint but now I will stay with Windows so much easier to install a game
How long do You use Xanmod on Mint? Is it secure to use custom kernel also is it easy to roll back in case of an system issue? I have the same processor. Does Xanmod can improve performance for Blender or Davinci?
nice tutorial, but for next time please let us know for what hardware is recommanded what are you installing, I had to redo some work because of the mesa drivers (i have an nVidia gpu)
