only thing that bugs me is the graphics, i expected it to look way better than this
I've discovered if you stay in second and third place before the finish, line the other A.I's will slow down. If you allow them to take direct damage in first place while maintaining second and having multiple items, the grand prix are a breeze to obtain.
I'm satisfied to say I've kept my kart default, no customization's.
But the real question is, is it better than mario kart ds?
Mario kart 8 has everything MK7 has plus better gameplay and graphics as well as zero-fucking Gravity

Don't forget that for the first time ever, there are some tracks that is made up of one giant lap split into 3 smaller sections

Most of the stuff you're praising MK7 for was on the DS and Wii.
I've found the 3D effect to be really good, just not a must. And I want to add that characters do differ in weight.
It's arguably the best singleplayer MK yet, hopes are high for 8 to take the multiplayer crown.

Still doesn't change the fact these games exist. It's like the Mario Party games where the latest one is called Mario Party 9, while there are actually a total of about 13 games, Nintendo just doesn't count the handheld titles and some arcade games released only in Japan.
Similar to how some installments in video game franchises are not released in certain regions, but are still counted as part of the franchise worldwide.
So? they're still Mario Kart games, they were made by Nintendo, so I don't see any reason why no to count them. Not to mention Nintendo and Namco are planning to make another Mario Kart GP for the Arcade.
I'd prefer Snow Board Kids 2 above all these party racer games
Mario Kart Wii is a great game. Past MK 64 it's the only one I love. Double Dash was boring for me.

The reviewer meant that there are no character-specific items like in MKDD.
I'd say my least favorite weapons SINCE THE WII would be the blue shell and the ink squid.
