So a few tidbits about IGN:
1) the writer who reviewed Sonic Unleashed way back when hasn't worked for that site for around a decade, so the opinions of the modern staff cannot be compared to that. As a matter of fact they even had Sonic Unleashed in their personal Top 10 Sonic games list so that shows how much a difference there is from then and now.
2) around 2019 or so IGN ditched the Point systems with their reviews and only use raw numbers now. If they had kept the old system Frontiers probably would have gotten something akin to a 7.4/10.
Disputing opinions in a review is one thing, but holding a 14+ year old grudge like a battered spouse just isn't worth it everyone.
