I’m hoping in GTA 6 Jason is a cop and we get to be a cop around vice city.
I REALLY wanted to rave about this game. I get the whole early GTA clone. Aesthetically it's really pretty as long as you dont zoom in too close. Which you can't.
But there are certain things about this game, mechanics wise, that makes it really hard to immerse into.
INSANE DRIVING
For example, the driving/chase sequences are supposed to be exciting, and they WOULD be, but the developers wanted to do what was done with GTA 4. You remember the first time playing GTA 4, and you realized "oh crap, this is a big clunky car, so it sways as such, as opposed to a sports car that was built for performance"? Well, it's THAT, except there is zero semblance of control once you go past a certain speed. So you'll be in the middle of a street race, or chasing a suspect you were looking for, and just out of the bowels of blue hell, your car veers off the road into a brick wall, for nothing. Being hit by drivers is bad enough because you'll spend the next 47 minutes trying to stop the car and correcting the direction you're going in, but when it happens for ZERO reason or provocation whatsoever, it gets frustrating. So I find myself turning the game on… playing until a chase ensues… and then suddenly remembering that chasing suspects is next to impossible. And then I just turn the game off without even trying anymore. Spent way too much time trying to figure it out.
USELESS PARTNER
Also, the partner AI is just… BROKEN. So you get a partner. And let's say there is a call for a street crime of two people fighting, or a drug deal or something where there are TWO suspects- naturally, you pick ONE and chase THAT guy…. but no. You have to chase, arrest, and call for a cop escort for him, and then you have to do the same thing for the other guy who's now 3 or 4 blocks away… IF you can find him, because they can hide in dumpsters and stuff. So…. what is the point of having a partner?
And so I thought "maybe Im going after the wrong guy". So the next time there is a 2 suspect crime, I go for the suspect NOT running, to see if my partner will chase the other guy… nope. Half the time, your partner is nowhere to be seen because he can't keep up with you running.
CALLING FOR BACK UP
The feature to call in for back up is a neat idea, but again, but another broken mechanic of the game. When you call in for spike strips during a chase, they may ACTUALLY attempt it every 4th of 5th call. And when game FINALLY has mercy and sends a spike strip officer, the bad guys never run through it. They just do a U Turn right in front of it, run through a wall if necessary without ever slowing down, or through a car, and then keep going. They're already 4 blocks away by the time you manage to U Turn. In fact, the spike trips are more likely to hurt YOU than a suspect.
You call for other cruisers to join you in on the chase, but just like the spikes, they'll jack YOU up before they even reach the suspect.
I kinda regret buying this game even though it was $22 on sale. I wish the developers would have taken a little extra time to get it right.
This really has the potential
to be a nice light alternative to GTA. Keep improving and releasing.
It’s a fun game. I wish mods will make their own creative ideas to add to the game in the future.
My tip for new players: stick with foot patrols until you reach level 20 and have the fastest cop car unlocked; you earn way more xp on foot patrols as car chases can take so much time out of a shift
Make it COOP. It is PG enough to play together with the kids!

I REALLY hope they spice it up with DLC's that bring missions/dialog from classics like Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Bad Boys, Training Day, End of watch etc. that would elevate it to a whole new level.
