This episode we work over to Castle Sol to grab the 2nd half of the Haligtree medallion and take down Commander Niall. This area also has the Eclipse Shotel, one of the legendary Armaments needed for platinum. There's also quite a few field bosses including another mariner and deathbird to take out.
The Castle Sol SUCKS!
Oh yeah just throw in two banished knights into a boss fight that’s totally a good idea what wonderful game design. Goty folks (obvious sarcasm)
The starscourge greatswords trivialize so many things i feel like
I read through a bunch of comments but see no mention of going left around the outside of Castle Sol. I found the Somber 8 I needed on a body atop a cliff visible from the grace out front.
Love these videos!
One attempt …. for you perhaps…. for me I think 5-10. OK, took me 8 tries. But only with the help of the mimic ashes…..jeez I'm too dumb for this
Jesus Christ, that f*ing bird. Lost 250k runes 🙁
I killed the Commander we both died at the same time got the second part of the medallion but no currency now the lift is not giving me access to the secret area do I have any options? Please advise
Well crap, screwed up and used all my bewitching branches so stuck not being able to access the snowfields. I guess now I have to wait until I'm way stronger to beat the 3 stooges on my own and my mimic?
If you want to take down a mausoleum, use the Starscourge Greatsword. VERY EASY.
If you have difficulties with icy dragon and death bird, try using talismaln of a pearl dragon +1, it helped me a lot.
If you can use starscourge greatsword, use starcaller cry on the legs of the walking mausoleum. The roar destroys all glowing stones on that leg.
It wouldn't let me use the bewitching branches in the fight idk why
Mimic will damn near kill everyone🤣😂🤣
If you’re playing offline mode then, actually don’t have to make to the consecrated snowfield in order to make it to Mohgwyn Palace. All you have to do is follow Varre’s quest line until he asks to invade, which u can complete by invading the Magnus the Beast Claw NPC at Writheblood ruins. Once done he will give you the item that you can use to teleport to Mohgwyn palace.
btw u can get behind the castle from the outside or from a drop and u can loot some souls a butterfly and 1 +8 smithing stone or sombre one forgot
for everyone who struggles with the death birds in the future here is 1 thing i found to kill them easy get on horse lock on them and get in their face then run circle around them hiting them with a greatsword type weapon (like the bloodhund fang) they wont he u much and if they do mostly will be torrent stepping on fiery ice also keep in mind to heal torrent becouse if he goes down u get knocked and then u wont have a good time (u can heal him with just drinking estus too) anyway hope this helps with this anoying birds
Have enjoyed this walkthrough greatly. My first souls game. I watched the first 10 or so episode before i did it myself, but then took the approch of doing game first, then watching yours vid to see what i missed. Got to say after reading comments on how hard castle Sol, i smoked Niall and his knights, and the deathbird with my quality build bloodhound fangs and mimic.
Before you leave the castle, go around it to the left for one more Sombering 8. You ride all the way around the castle, there's a lot of crafting mats on the way, and 2 birds you can pull to fight alone.
The knights did nothing and died instantly😭
The death birds as a strength build gave me more trouble than any enemies in the game by far. Malenia was a walk in the park in comparison I don’t even know why 😂
Been an amazing experience with your help throughout the game just want to say thank you for all the effort you have put in , I wanna duel you sometime to see how I would fair against you would be fun haha
My mimic started fighting a ghost
If you play str/quality build don't bother with these bewitching branches. Ads go down with 3 heavy hits so it's quite quicker to kill them than bother with making them fight each other… mages shoulnd't have much problems with them especially with tanky summon.
Oh man, I forgot about the bewitching branch and just went in
TBH I find Commander Niall's aoe most challenging part. My weapons are well upgraded so as knights don't seem to come together, I managed to finish them knights quickly. However, the boss'es aoe was quite devastating. This is what got me killed.
For Oleg just jump down after hitting with knife then run out the front gate. He'll only chase about that far, then easy prey to Lightning Bolt or any other spells.
Envoys Longhorn with mimic tear destroyed the deathbird.
Witching branch makes Commander N. a breeze
