Cat Behavior Explained – KITTENS and ADULT CATS

One week ago today I brought home a malnourished little kitten who was not used to humans and had been outside for a bit. The vet told me the kitten's a male and between six to eight weeks old and unfortunately had a belly full of worms. I toilet trained him and now he's starting to open up and behave like a kitten more each day. I have no idea where he came from, though it's not likely he was a stray (he didn't have any fleas). My assumption is that he's a kitten born from a farm cat or something and perhaps lost his way. He's staying with me now though and I'm learning much about cats (I'm a dog person) as little Murphy grows and becomes more comfortable and confident in my presence. I can't wait to introduce him to the dog, but that's going to be a while from now. First he needs to recover and get a little bigger.

I am taking care of two “feral” littermates. There were three, but one was killed. All female.

I’ll do the same compassionate caring for any ferals I see, and will do my best to prevent feral kitten births.

For feral cats, just remember, they didn’t ask to be born into the torture of feral cat life!

We absolutely LOVE cats!

We don't have any money, the WTO has made it illegal for us to fish (but commercial fishing is legal!) and there isn't much wildlife on island, but there are a huge number of feral cats. We bait them with scraps of food an jab them with frog gigs. We try to catch them in the intestinal area, because unlike game animals, cat tastes significantly better if it dies a really slow and and agonizing death.

We usually put them in a dug out hole and sound proof the lid using blankets because their noises of agony can cary for miles and it scares the tourists (not a problem during covid). After 3hrs or so, we really increase their stress hormones by jabbing them with red hot metal pokers, usually into their eyes and mouth.

After we process the animal, we leave various parts of the animal out to attract other cats. Our family of 3 survives on one cat a day plus veggies. Our 3yr old loves jabbing the cats at the end, it's soooooo cute!

Adult cats are our main staple, but we try to have kittens on special occasions. But it's a lot of work, because the secret with kitten meat, is torture torture torture, the more the better! Three days of agony for the 50 os so kittens and it's literally better than any food you can imagine. Guilty pleasures!

Just kidding, I love my kitty. I would die without Miss Piggy!

I have 10 cats, one of them behaves like he doesn’t like us ( humans) he just sits or eat or sleep with group (with others 9 cats). He doesn’t like to be touched. Some times he make faces like he is thinking 😛 why do you live with us/ why don’t you leave us/ don’t take care of us. 😞🙁☹️🥺

I just got my first cat. She was already 3 months old when I got her. She was abandoned by her mother and living outside. I've had her for 2 weeks now. She doesn't listen when I give orders. Is it too late to train her?

Good to know I have to kittens from the same litter and they follow me around constantly and scream if they cant see me is it because they see me as family?

My kitten is 2 mnts old it bits a lot and lot will this behavior stay when he grow or will he stop biting please help or any effective methods to avoid biting 🥺🥺🥺

I have a rescue, about 2 years old. We have had her for about 6 months. She has made a lot of progress but is still such an anxious cat. She still hides quite a bit, and runs from us when we walk by her. She will spend time with us when we are on the couch as she seems safe there. Are there any things we could be trying to get her to trust us more?

My cat is half raddoll but I didn't know that until he was 1 yr old. He doesn't understand when a cat lays on its back it is surrendering. I wondered if that is from being half raddoll because his mum would have been a house cat like most ragdoll cat will do so he doesn't seem to know what to do is he doesn't seem to understand what other cats are telling him through their body language.

I adopted a 4 year old female cat from my local Shelter. She hid under the couch for 2 1/2 days. The shelter didn’t know her history. They had her spayed and she’s up to date on Vaccines etc.
Do female cats Mark territory like males?
I started her on dry cat food then switched to canned after learning cats have urinary issues if on hard food too long. Plus she vomited up her hard food a few times. She keeps soft food down.

My cat had a second littler of kittens and there 2 or 3 months old and at night this grey kitten comes in my room for attention

Nonsense. I have had Cats for 28 years straight. They do what they want to do irregardless. Just give them medical attention, good food and Love.

I’d like to know why our male cat has become aggressive to only one of my dogs. Hissing, howling & hair raised. But leaves the other dog alone. We live in the country so the cat is both in the house & outside.

I have a stumpy manx kitten, shes very sweet and affectionate. However, she loves giving "love bites" that hurt and I now have about 15 new facial piercings courtesy of her!

fix your cats people. we have an animal dying in shelters every 11 seconds. don't add to that number and fix your cats!!!

Cats are more gentle and arrogent and clever than dogs cats also have better obstacle skills but both are amazing

I just brought home a kitty who was starving dehydrated and almost dead. His spine was sticking up like a dinosaur. He was so sick when he first got here. I thought he was a kitten because he was so small. He threw up everything he ate and drank the first night. He had a zillion fleas. He just laid there for the first few days. I was so worried he wouldn't make it. I didn't use a chemical flea treatment or a bath because he was so weak. I just happened to have herbals that wouldn't hurt him to get rid of the fleas.
It's now day 10. He has gained weight, his eyes are bright and he is the best snuggler. He is just a chill guy. He and I decided he should stay with me.

I have a lot of street cats in my area. I give them food…. And just a few days back one of the cat was killed by dogs and she left her only kitten with its first generation kittens who have grown up. And I have no clue how to calm it in the first place! And its my first pet care ever!
