Redmi Note 14 goes global, LTE-only option tags along

Xiaomi brought Redmi Note 14 to the global scene today, one month after launching the phone in India. The phone is essentially the same, with one major improvement in the camera department.

We also saw the introduction of an LTE-only variant, which is an entirely new handset with a Helio chipset, a different footprint and a revamped camera setup.

Redmi Note 14 5G

The international variant, just like its Indian and Chinese namesakes (which are two different phones), runs on Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset, though it remains unclear how it’s better than the regular 7025.

Upfront is a 6.67″ AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, up to 120 Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The panel offers 2,100 nits peak brightness and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. There is a single punch hole for the 20 MP selfie camera.

At the back Redmi Note 14 5G brings a 108 MP main shooter with OIS, a 1/1.67″ sensor with 0.64 μm pixels. There is also an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 2 MP macro shooter.

We have to point out the IP64 dust and water resistance of Note 14, which is a bump over the IP54 certification from the predecessor. The phone also has a 3.5 mm audio jack, a feat we rarely see anymore, even on affordable devices.

The Redmi Note 14 comes with a 5,110 mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. Xiaomi said there is a 45W PD charger in the box, unless you are living in the EU, where bundling an adapter with the phone is now banned.

The phone comes with HyperOS on top of Android 14 – Xiaomi is yet to release a smartphone on the global market with the current Android OS out of the box. At least the interface brings some AI features like AI Erase, AI Sky, and AI Beautify, and the Gemini app comes pre-installed for more generative AI features.

Color options of the Redmi Note 14 5G are Black, Purple, and Coral Green. There are three memory versions – 6/128 GB, 8/256 GB, and 12/512 GB, but their availability is market-dependent. Pricing will be announced soon.

Redmi Note 14 4G

The LTE variant of the Redmi Note 14 is definitely a downgrade in terms of performance. It it powered by the Helio G99 that is over 2.5 years old.

The cameras are also less impressive – Xiaomi kept the 108 MP main shooter with the 1/1.67″ sensor and 0.64 μm pixels but lacks OIS. There is also no ultra-wide camera – the second cam is a 2 MP depth sensor, and the third is the 2 MP macro snapper. At least the front-facing camera is the same 20 MP unit.

Looking at the front, Redmi Note 14 keeps the 6.67” AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate with Gorilla Glass on top. The panel offers 1,800 nits peak brightness and is certified by TUV Rheinland for low blue light.

We have to point out the phone has a bigger footprint and, therefore, a bigger battery than its 5G sibling with a 5,500 mAh cell and support for 33W wired charging. Again, the adapter is included in the box unless you live in the European Union.

This Redmi Note 14 has IP54 dust and splash resistance and also has a 3.5 mm audio jack. Software-wise, we are looking at another HyperOS phone with Android 14 and some basic AI features .

It comes in Black, Purple, Blue, or Lime Green colors and has no less than three memory options – 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB. The basic is priced at €200/£180, while the middle variant costs €230/£230. More pricing and availability will vary by region.
