I know I'm a minority, but Silent Hill Downpour is the only game that really got under my skin. 2 and 3 were pretty creepy but I only ever felt scared by Downpour.

I dont remember if it was in silent hill 1 or 2 but one of them messed me up badly. I remember this one long ass staircase I had to go down and it felt like it took at least 5mins of game time to decend. The entire time there was a creepy fog horn going off and the atmosphere just got more and more disturbing. By the time I hit the bottom and found a door I had to go through I just noped out and turned the game off. It was like I was taking a basement staircase to hell.
