The combat in KCD2 looks like the tutorial for KCD. I’m going to beat the second one then play the first and then the second one again
LOL you make it sound eady, but in reality it doesn't work like this. The AI can easily fend off your attacks and beat like anytime, move much faster than you, and counterattack your every move where you have to chance of blocking. Better to avoid fights completely.

Master Strikes invalidate all other combat mechanics.
Combos? Lol, you're never going to pull off a combo. You think you can swing your sword at an enemy three-to-five times without them master-striking you and breaking your combo?
Be serious.
Picking speciifc weapons for battles doesn't seem viable either. I'm at max encumbrance just carrying my sword and armour. There's no way I could carry a second weapon, I can't even afford to pick flowers off the ground.
Plus, you can't open your inventory when in combat so by the time you notice that you're fighting a heavily armoured enemy, it's too late.

Well opening up my skill menu would help me while I'm practicing with Bernard. I'd like to make sure I'm getting those combos down but I can't access it 🤷🏼
I know this has been years, but if people are having trouble with the bow. You can unequip it and use the recticle to aim. You pull your bow back out, and as soon as he full draws, you can fire it and instantly hit the soot your reticle was aiming at.
I used the bow to take a few first and then mop up with long sword. Four plus enemies are hard. Great game
How can i use a longsword as a 2hand?
I'm revisiting this game in prep for the new one, and I love the different build/strats, personally my go to fighting style is clinchmaster, get in close, knock them off balance, then use the opening
I just downloaded this game again as I never got very far upon release. After 12 hours I uninstalled again after recalling how unplayable the combat system is. I would love this game if I could literally play it, but it is far to complicated for my skills. 45 hours played and I was never able to land a single hit, other than training. These tip videos literally did nothing to help as it was far to much to keep in mind at once while fumbling for buttons. Sure, I could spend the next 100 hours or so getting better, but that sounds like a literal nightmare to me lol.

HOW DO I EVEN SWING THE SWORD? I'm stuck on the very first combat of the game, , where I have to save some girl from 3 knights and after 50 attempts I CANT EVEN SWING IT ONCE! HOW DO I PLAY THIS GAME?
Additionally if you are getting hit by multiple swings from an enemy let go of the block button and wait for the green shield to show back up so you can interrupt. Taking one hit to armor is better and getting your stamina drained and dying
What I hate about the combat is they force you to focus on one enemy while getting jumped and they can just parry every sinlge strike. Combos are useless

Every time when I start to make a combo it's interrupted by a masterstrike… and if I can do masterstrikes why would I do combos?
Legit everything i do gets blocked then i cant block the same way the A.I cant its so annoying. The combat is kinda bad
ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS when you get the chance force a sword clash to stun your opponent and get a free hit, also a great thing to do is to show an enemy into a corner so they cant work on their positioning.

I have a love/hate relationship with the combat mechanics in this game especially with bow shaking which doesn't make sense in any way honestly but it's not too hard to work around. let's also involve dodging and counterstriking after dodging which can be effective for moving, avoiding an attack, saving equipment durability and giving you an opening for an attack if you're quick enough. one thing you should not do is run as if you can escape and that's mostly for 2+ enemies and no horse to use, you will almost certainly die. also if you're having trouble getting coins early on lockpicking and laundering can be an amazing way to get the coins for any gear you've been eyeing just make sure you don't get caught as the game may run similarly to the Elder Scrolls games it's also much more advanced in the basic mechanics and NPC can catch you more easily as well as the game doesn't stop for the lockpicking menu so you can get walked in on in the process so learn where the NPC might be and where they might go as they don't have a set pattern really and can be in any of their set locations at any time if they're more of a minor character to the story.
If you focus on the reticle looking for the green shield you might not be able to time it
Instead of focusing on the reticle, focus on your enemy’s movements, they telegraph every attack, just like in Mike Tyson’s punch out.
Looking for the telegraphing will serve you better than looking for the green shield icon
