The only reason people be hating on this game is because they expect to be like Arkham when the developers constantly say it’s not connected to Arkham in any way
Once you unlock all of the abilities and replay the game world in newgame+ it's really fun and smooth.
My only complains now is still no 60fps for consoles and the batcycle is slow af. Hopefully they will fix this asap and I also can't wait for the 4 players co-op mode survival waves.
Dope? Nah. It's playable at best. It pisses me off Everytime I play. But it's playable. The thing that sucks is this should be a layup of a great game. Imagine if the combat was more diverse like God of war,fast like spiderman,or the exact same as arkams combat. The combat is so fucking bad! Well actually it's mediocre. For something following arkam mediocre combat IS actually terrible. And it's almost all combat. The puzzle solving aspect is basically non existent,slow irritating combat, traversal isn't even close to arkam, bad character designs, bad story layout and setup (it's set up in a way where the story doesn't pull you in), bad character designs, etc. I want to love it (and I just got it), but I'm more so playing old games instead. Gotham knights is a space filler until evil west,forespoken,Calistoga protocol,or Hogwarts legacy come out…. Initially I was most excited about Gotham knights (in comparison to the others). It's just not good though.

The majority of the hate on this game is not because its bad it's cuz of how poorly optimised it was at launch and the missing mext gen performance feature mode for next gen Consoles. Also its still performing badly across all platforms and need a decent fix ASAP. What I pointed out is the just the major two reasons from a list of cons.
The only reason why this game is okay is cause it's Batman. The people defending it are hardcore Batman fans. That's how they sold the game. It's ok they got me with it too. But if you take the Batman thing away and just left us with the gameplay would anyone still like it. I feel like if it was judged based on gameplay and not that it's a Batman game it would of flopped and no one would of argued how bad it is. It's just the Batman fans saying this game is fun and cool so they don't have to admit that we deserve better than this shit. I was the same till I got past the Batman nostalgia in the first handful of hours. After I had nothing else to unlock gameplay wise I got bored fast and saw all the glaring problems fast

I think people compared the game combat with Arkham. Arkham is definitely trying to fulfill your fantasy of being batman. Where you mostly only press one button and you'll still look a badass. Imho gotham knights combat is better and more engaging. You have to do a lot to look cook, however when you get it its much more satisfying.
If you guys really hate how spongey the enemies are, change the difficulty to low, it reduces the enemy health greatly. Which I think is a really weird feature for an rpg like this. You might as well grind in easy mode then change the game mode to hard later. But the game is very good and engaging. i can definitely recommend

Did you try co-op? I had a few people jump into my game and it was fantastic. Ended up completing the mission co-op. People live to complain about 30 fps but don’t give this game the love it deserves for having untethered co-op in a decent sized open world.
What annoys me is most of the people criticizing this game didn’t even play it… they just say the graphics aren’t good and base their opinion on trailer footage.
When you get your abilities, this game becomes so much fun. And I think they are introduced at a good pace. Too early and id feel overwhelmed, too late and id feel the grind. This was well paced for me
Yeah, you're right. I lost a lot of respect for a couple of reviewers and won't watch them again. I'm having a fun time, and wondering what the hell they were dogging on it for. It isn't Arkham and is was never meant to be.
