That final fight with tyr just made me rage quit..i ain't interested in god of war turning into some rouge like game
I was at the final Tyr fight which I feel was ridiculous having to fight him four different times and having to restart each time from the very beginning. I just ended up quitting bc there's no point in trying to beat a free DLC that was purposely made to be difficult, no matter what level you set it on. The main game was a classic imo, but the DLC is pathetic. They took a page out of AC: Valhalla's book with this DLC. The story telling and convos were great, but the repetitive enemies and constant set backs were horrible.

F this game I’m glad the director said his part on this Kratos and I was watching gameplay and the people just don’t shut up Kratos will be on fire burning and mimir has to say hey dude your on fire! They think the people playing are dumb which I guess some are. Everything will be a movie from now on with unskippable segments with the main focus being story. I love cutscenes and lore but not having to walk through them slow and sacrificing gameplay for them.

Too frustrating to play, constantly being stuck in the same cycle having to restart whole sections again made me eventually give up as it became a real chore to play and thats not why I play videogames.

Old Kratos' family were killed. He didnt kill by choice, ares made him do it. Then, than made him violent of course and players got it and went along with it.
He killed gods and nature went crazy and huge weves killed civilians after death of poseidon. What happened exactly when we killed thor or odin? NOTHING. They just killed new gods like any other bosses. They didnt kill thor or odin but in the end, they showed dwarf killed odin with the feel of vengence so THAT'S IT. The game is actually contradicting with the idea itself. They try to look old kratos bad but at the same time they made dwarf killed odin because he has right to do it. How exactly was it different Kratos killing zeus or any other god when there is a reason behind it? They should have focused these topics instead of adding 50 different boring side chars. The game is horrible in terms of story and storytelling.
God of war ragnarok, the fumble was heavy. Valhalla is atleast more fun then what u describe. But like u said, there should've been more enemy variatey. The story for valhalla is great if god lf war ragnarok wasnt so ass in the main game. Kratos being genuienly depressed asf is understandable, hes a combat veteran. Most of the problems could have been fixed if you got a shortcut door on the beach whenever you reached the final boss. That way, you wouldn't have to go spend 15 minutes just to earn another shot. It would also allow you to fight the boss on a higher difficulty. You could still farm the earlier area if you wanted to level up. Of course, I would have preferred for them to scrap the rougelike idea entirely, but since they went with it, the developers could have least been more considerate of players' time.
