I’m a gen x gamer . On a side note I feel like we’ve been cheated out of our future as far as hovering cars and skate boards is concerned. Coming back , I feel like gaming can make up for it. And with that riding a bloody ostrich in Jedi survivor felt like a major set back. Even your ship feels only like a way to change boards. I I mean in a much older Assasins creed odyssey you can control your ship ! WTH ?Anyway seeing that your transport in this game is another bloody animal ? I’m not feeling that and I’ll pass. I mean we are inching fordward as we do have a hovering moped in SW outlaws. But I mean Devs, come on? That ain’t no speederbike or a land speeder
This game’s an easy 9/10 for me. It would be an easy 10 if it just weren’t for the writing for Aloy’s character lol. It’s the only weak part for me and makes me hesitate booting it up every time. The level of unsettling rudeness that Aloy’s developed towards people who do not deserve it as they have no idea what’s going on and have their own lives and worlds, and how it’s never addressed and instead she’s only ever praised for how wonderful of a person she is despite acting like the total opposite usually gets overridden by how well the game feels to play once your thumb is back on the stick, but damn it if most of the time as soon as a cutscene ends I just do not want to be her anymore lol. I’m all for tough, stoic characters. Batman, The Witcher, Arthur Morgan, whatever. But generally if/when they’re rude to people who have done nothing wrong it’s noticed by other characters, presented in a way that you’re supposed to see that it’s wrong, and there’s often a redemption of some kind. Aloy is the opposite and gets deified WHILE being an asshole to people that have no idea what’s going on and have their own understandable struggles. It’s confusing to say the least lol. At least the game looks and plays incredibly good.
I'm very late to the party as I only just started playing Forbidden West a few days ago. And while it is good, I don't seem to be finding the enjoyment thats described in this video. The voice acting feels very over exaggerated and unnecessarily over the top. There also seems to be a little…."too much", if that makes sense. I'm all for more material but (and this is my personal opinion) the new features this game added when compared to Zero Dawn, just felt like the producers had a meeting and all they said was, "ok what is EVERYTHING we didn't have before that we could have now? I don't care if it's excessive, put it in!!". It just feels like it takes away from the actual gameplay and story when there's so much, almost too much to chose from. Again, this is just my personal opinion. Even the puzzles, (old ruins with special keys) felt forced and I just felt myself getting frustrated almost as if they were nothing but busy work. I know I can skip them, but I'm a completionist, and I just wish these felt more enjoyable to do rather than a boring and frustrating time killer to overcome

As someone who LOVES the horizon games. Forbidden West gave me nearly everything I wanted and was hoping for. I have almost 200 hours invested, multiple playthroughs and am now going again after playing the Zero Dawn remaster.
The graphics still leave me breathless. I still remember how stoked I was when I first discovered we would get to fly on the sunwing. Then New Game + allowed us to fly early. Burning Shores is amazing.
It's almost hard to believe we are 2 years later.

For me this game is for 10 not 9
Repetitive open world that doesn't feel all that rewarding, mostly because of the weak loot system. Melee Combat is also tiresome and lacks depth in term of enganging with enemies, mostly because their moveset tends to reward the same type of fighting strategy. Other than that, combat is great, and fighting huge or moveset-dense enemies is amazing. Visually stricking, but the whole tribes and storyline feel rather debatable, similar to the original. 8.5~9/10.
