Although I have a PC that can easily run this game, ever since I got the Lite, I started picking up some ports (for example, I finished the Wolfenstein II campaign on it which, although it was very blurry and looked like I had astigmatism, was still an interesting experience). The convenience is phenomenal, and the Switch is addictive. I had a V1 before, but I sold it and recently bought a Lite again, and I’ve been loving it—especially because it’s smaller and more robust. I’m from the era when we stared at the tiny screen of a GameBoy Color, with no backlight, and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Since I’m in my 30s, I don’t have any vision issues, and I understand it might be bad for some, but the experience is very decent with the games—it’s a trade-off.
Anyway, I felt like the textures in general are quite low quality (for example, there are some air conditioner fans that don’t even have a visible blade outline—it’s just a block, like something from the PS2 era). On the other hand, the lighting, reflections (except for the mirror in the barbershop), and shadows are wonderful and help give it a new-gen feel, even though the textures are lacking. The character and cat animations are really good—another positive point. These things make up for it, because the gameplay still holds up, even with lower textures and resolution, and it still provides a very enjoyable experience. We always need to remember it’s a handheld console.
I saw a comment saying Switch fans were struggling—interesting, maybe that’s on the Dock. On the Lite, I’ve never heard the fans getting loud in any game, even in the ones that seem heavier. And I live in a place where the indoor temperature easily hits 30ºC or more.
Switch port for life!
393 Gflops compared to 10.3 Tflops. Good port.
So much better than I was expecting
Damn looks good on the switch!
I’m curious to see the comparison in midtown, where there’s sensory overload everywhere
its crazy how much better it looks on Switch, with normalized texture detail, the removal of blur that actually shows more graphics, the scruffyness of the cat hair, it's all way better on Switch!
I got Stray (Nintendo Switch) for Christmas and it took me 8 hours to beat it!😻🎄
It looks better than both of these on my kids Xbox
Wow look at that… switch somehow looks better because it has a darker tone and is a bit less smooth
Motionblur would’ve helped the switch port 30fps so much, but I understand that it was out of the performance budget.
Just whoa, this is one of the best examples that if they want they can port current gen games to switch with a comparable experience!
Optimization seems a thing of the past these days, this is really impressive!
If switch has 60fps means its worth buying
2:15 why do I literally prefer the Switch version’s lighting here??
The cat walking animation is noticeable.
This says more about the PS5 than it does about the Switch. The fact that it doesn't look leaps and bounds better on PS5 is honestly kind of troubling if you're a PS person.
Well, it's obvious the Switch has a lower resolution and a bit less details – but I like the colurscheme more. The PS5 is way too bright and washed out, when it comes to the colorgrading. Who would've thought I'd prefer the Switch version… 😄
Could care less about graphics as long as the game is good
Switch wins!
Switch版やとまじグラフィックゴミやな流石低機能任天堂
5:15 I really like the color/lighting here on the Switch. I'll buy it on sale sometimes in the future tho I want to play it again
Why does it look better on switch? Haha
The PS5 version looks better in every way apart from contrast.
The lightning in switch makes it grittier
Switch is just vastly superior.
Ps5…well u tried, dont feel wrong, maybe will have better luck next time.
