That donkey = stupid thing is very interesting thing. In some Spanish speaking countries (like the ones in Latin America), the word "burro" (donkey, in Spanish) is used as synonym/slang for dumb or stupid… I wonder if that dictionary had any sort of Spanish influence…
i cant believe theres so many youtube videos on this topic based on Dk being styled differently in a movie where everyone was slightly stylized and again from like 5 seconds of footage in a game that hasn't even been officially announced, where, again, it seems characters are again being stylized. Its also not as though the general population would even have assumed it was a permanent change and had a chance to react yet.

As a small boy I had two different stuffed donkey kongs. One with the original design and the other with the rare redesign.
