I was only a quarter of the way through and you got the sub which is rare for me. Lol i like the info you gave especially in that first 6 or 7 minutes. I know i should just rent teams but i grinded so incredibly hard i can basically make as many teams as i want. I used to play the game when red version and gold was out and would say i won against my friends at least half the time. With the new generations came all these crazy items and abilities i stopped playing after gen 2 and had no idea how to play once i played sword and shield. It's been a fun ride learning how to play and I'm happy to announce i almost win as much as i lose. Lol
I was pretty good in xy pvp battles but havent done so since. Just picked up and violet and wanted to get back into battling but its hard now that I have kids. So I have been slowly building my team and studying battles online. Hopefully I can get some battles going in the near future. Anyway thanks for this!
I did think you were pretty cute and decided to watch
succinct, highly informational, clear, AND you included someone for us spanish speakers? great content, just got a new subscriber. I want to start VGC but its so daunting thinking of actually trying to play competitively. One day soon hopefully! Cheers from Spain
Honestly, thanks so much for this video. I've been trying to get into VGC for a long time and I've always found it hard to know where to start. This is such a great jumping off point!
great video! but you seem so camera awkward and your eyes keep reading what i assume is the script, makes the video feel so uncomfortable for me.
Personally I didn’t watch this video to Learn how to play the game (I’m top 50 in doubles ou in showdown with jumpluff) but to learn how to get my friend to start competitive pokemon. I started pokemon from my older brothers and I just played a bunch of battles in gen 8 with strong Pokémon’s. (Cindarce, zaptos…) and when I realized showdown was a thing I played it and from experience of playing a lot of different metas (I am top 500 in every single double mode) the best way to learn is just played battles, you can learn a lot about a meta just from seeing a few battles, I don’t like the approach of using a preset team (I use off meta pokemon (jumpluffff) so i don’t really count) because it makes them predictable, they won’t know the reason the team is built like that and when they will create their own they will don’t know anything, and a great motivation is to use a loved pokemon, love your vids and hope you will grow ❤
do we need nintendo switch online to play casual battle in pokemon scarlet and violet ?
your video style is amazing. it feels personable and the advice is useful and realistic. good stuff right here 👏
Thank you so much for this video, I want it to start playing competitive and this video is very informative for a newbie like me. 👌
I'm an old Pokémon fan. I was 10 years old when the first gen was released. I never dared to play VGC before, but now I'd like to play it, at least as a hobby I truly love. Like others play chess for fun, I'd love to play VGC. Do you think is it OK for an old dude like me to start? Or is it too late?
Are there single team events? or is it always doubles
I would love to do competitive Pokemon im not getting any younger lol
1:09 I am wearing a black hoodie rn and I also have the same style of beard like you. Are we brothers? You're the white version and I am the brown Version :))
Hello! I would like to thank you for this video and the info you're providing.
But I do have a question. Let's say a Pokemon I really like can do big damage or tank a lot of hits doing its support role, but yet there are some people who instead of giving that Pokemon a try on showdown they straight up just bash me for using/liking that one Pokemon or call me mean stuff because of it. What should I do in that case, besides the obvious one being ignoring them?
I Start playeng competive in gen 3 and quit at gen 6.
As Personal experiance u need to learn the meta.Study smogon..find ur neeche..for example i love gen 6 ou but i like nu gen 4. Watch really good Player that plays ur neeche..lern stuff what Kind of Team exist..like Werther teams.Learn how to Set a pokemon..like some can be offensive but also defensive etc.just play ur current gen Format u like when u find, sine switching Formats for beginner is hard but later u can adapt by gameknowledge..use calc if u olay Showdown. Well this is my Personal Suggestion.
After 1 week u see what ppl play depending on ur Sr..Start experiance what u like. Dont be dissapointet ur mon doesnt work right of the Box even pros need to do trial and errpr to Figure out the best IV Split or pokemon..lastly play a lot
