Very nice! But it might be too bulky to carry in the vehicle to help Old Fido back into the car. I've been looking for plans for a hinged folding ramp, which would be light enough for arthritic wife to handle alone. Even old, frail dogs should be able to climb a 1/12 slope ramp, but that won't fit the car. The auto dog ramps I've seen thus far seem to have 1/2 slope, and that's too steep for most Sr. Dogs. Suggestions?
Would adding carpet or ? help with traction. I have a router, a circular saw, and picket hole jig.

I like you, man! I really do! I like your energy and your enthusiasm. And your projects are imaginative and fun to watch. Just one thing: CUT your poor dog's nails!!! She's in pain with those talons she's got on her poor feet! I'm a dog trainer and we see dogs with nails like this all the time. In fact, you should come up with something (a project) that would make trimming dog nails easy. There's your next assignment. And, because all dogs have nails that need to be trimmed, this would be a project that remained useful for the entire life of the dog! If you want my help, just let me know. That's a nice piece of 'furniture' and not at all a 'doggie' step…that's a stair step of true affection for your pet! What comes to mind after watching the build is that it must be heavy. It wouldn't be much for 'you,' however, what about your wife, or son? Or…mee! lol. How much, if I may be so nosy, does it weigh? Thanks! : )

Great idea! BUT…..would love to see one for our truck. We keep our back seat up but our 11 year old yellow lab can no longer jump in. Any ideas for some type of slide out ramp that goes under a lay down area? He is 119 pounds we cannot lift him in or out but he still would love a ride!
