What is this squishy ball called?!
Hey i trained my 3 year old dog to play fetch using a tennis ball. she was great at it on the first day but she is not interested in the ball after that day. i tried so hard to take her attention to the ball but she is not interested in it. pls help.
I can't watch your videos with my new puppy in the room. He goes crazy!!! Are you a puppy whisperer?
So smart! I love the tip of putting the toy on a leash. Genius!
2kkk
The leash on the dog just seemed to disappear! Missing this aspect !! I've got a four month old GSD that could use this exercise.
How do you teach a vocabulary word? For example, go fetch the ball or go fetch the stick?
I love the jump she gives when she reaches you.
Great idea with attaching a line to the toy. We use a "Kong Reflex Tug Durable Dog Toy" and it works great for our 5 mo lab. It's soft on the teeth, has great hand-hold/line attach points, stands up to a game of tug, and it floats! Thanks for the great videos, I absolutely love the McCann style of dog training.
Hi @mccanndogs
what are the best age for the dog to learn fetch? 🙂
My Border collie is around 4 months old, and she runs for the toy, and then she just lay down and biting the toy 🙂
Could it be her age, or is it the wrong toy? 🙂
Jist tried this today. It does work! Jeep at it! I just find a toy the puppy likes to chew and would let him chase it in xircles rhen eventually tbrow it after a few tug o wars. I am confident this will help him once we practice a lot.
My dog just traces the rope back to me… 🫠
This is okay. But it would be more helpful to demonstrate with a puppy who is STILL learning to Fetch…not a puppy that clearly is 100% learned on fetch.
Thank you for this video! Will try with my stubborn corgi…
To train, one has to show different kinds of dogs – and ages. And toys,.
show different kinds of dogs would be helpful – not all are flyball background
showing different toys would be helpful — not all can be held with a line….
I have my hands full with two 1.5 yr old Malinios mixes, that we just got from the shelter. They are extremely smart and amazingly good. THEY run for the toy…. but will NOT bring it right to us. In fact, if I hold the toy Anna will stay out of arms' reach. (like in another of your videos I get two toys tossing one, then the other- that seems to work best) I guess my girls need to learn to trust us, and really want that love. Elsa is food motivated. Anna is gonna be a great frisbee dog, she does spectacular jumps! Now to get her to love me so much she brings the toy right to me. 🥴😊
My puppy would chase the toy and try to bring it back, but she will drop it in the middle of her way back. Its even worse when I try to move away to encourage the retrieve. What can I do? 🙁
Dead Ducks, Labradors really love them.
In your videos for fetch when you added the part of running AWAY from your dog when they aren't bringing it back THAT was the best strategy for my dog that no one else showed in the videos I watched. THANK YOU!
What if you have a dog, 11 month old border collie, who simply doesn't go after anything. Shows no interest in tugging or playing with toys. Ironically, his name is "Chase". I really want to get him interested in fetching bringing things back to me but I don't know where to begin. Do you have a video on that aspect of Fetching?
Can't stop smiling 😊
Why on earth would you want to teach a dog to fetch? It becomes an obsession that is just annoying. The dog just becomes infatuated with dropping crap at your feet.
