Cats are so smart. I taught my dog some sign language and the cats picked it up just from watching. Side note: if you teach your animals some signs you can communicate when they get old and lose hearing.
Re: fireworks fear, friends got this feline comfort plug-in thingy for their cats and it really calmed them over the 4th.
So, when the cats are downstairs, do they watch birds and squirrels out the window?

1. Thank you for the new basket camera. I always wondered how that was set up, and what was going on when Todd and/or Glamour was/were over there, as well as wanting a view of that area when you were playing jingle ball with Todd while sitting in your computer chair.
2. So glad to see that you're feeling better, as you showed us by being able to stand up from your kneeling position while holding Todd inside his basket. However, please don't overdo.

I lose my baby boy Momo in October at almost 12 1/2 years old. I had a neighbor ask if I wanted to see him 3 days after our 15 year old female Sasha died and I had adopted her from a roommate I had who unexpectedly died.

I would think that — for a cat — the differentiation between "inside" (the UNSAID house), and "inside the basket" would be much too hard to comprehend. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

I recently got a new toy for Broccoli and I think Todd would love it. Anyone else might love it too. It's a motorized chase toy, Similar to how they're used to train dogs for hunting or racing. Broccoli is mad about this thing. He's constantly telling me he wants it turned on! They're anywhere from 60 to 80 bucks on Amazon, real easy to find.

Have the other cats ever attempted to use the buttons? Or is Todd the only one who has shown interest in it? I've only ever seen a single cat or single dog household do this before. So far I've only ever seen Glamour walk over and press something by accident and Paulie just seems to avoid it completely.

Does Todd's Mom use the buttons with him, too?. (I'm taking note, because I plan to use them with our future pets after our twenty year old sister cats pass. You may want to be careful about "inside" and "outside", most button pets are taught it exclusively for inside and outside the house. Inside and outside the basket and inside and outside the house are two different concepts and loading them into the same word could be A Lot
