One thing i have done is to hide his toys under the edges of my bedcovers so he has to dig them out in order to play with them. Especially when i have to go to the office twice a week.
I have 1yo cat for just 2 weeks now and he can be very cuddly and gentle cat but also shows a lot play agression but when I want to play with him after he bites me, he just doesn't give a fck, doesn't want to, seems like he just want to play with my hands (which I don't want). I'm pretty much forcing him active play with me but he is not rly interested, he prefers when I throw a toy and he runs towards it, wants me to pick it up and throw again. He only actively chase the wand toy when I keep hiding it around doors, corners and stuff, like hiding it outside line of sight, only then he is gonna try to get it.

What if you provide 1,000 dollars worth of toys abd they still behave poorly? I can't drop everything and play all day, I have work and I work from home. I can't stop and play while in a meeting or working on tickets. He paws at the windows and doors acting like he wants out so I let him outside, but I can't keep him outside we have coyotes. He gets bored with a new toy after a week. I can't afford his boredom. We took him to the vet and that cost 500 bucks and they only found he's dehydrated with possibly kitty IBS, switched food that he hates so switched back, and now we give him water under his skin because he won't drink enough water for some reason. We switched water bowls, got him a fancy drinking fountain, he still avoids it. Changed water type too, doesn't matter. He prefers to paw at the windows all day or destroy my office.

Huh you just explained to me why my cat scarfed down her food when she was still at the rescue. Maybe that or food envy since she could smell the other cats in the building. But maybe she was just bored? Now she gets plenty of attention, plenty of play and pets and I started clicker training with her as well!
I just got a feral cat from work. She's been spayed and all vaxxed up. She's not reacting to a laser, to any toys, she only scratches the post a bit. And she keeps grinding her head along my legs. But as soon as I pet her a little she hisses or tries to bite. So I'm clueless. Can't play with her or pet her.

I've always had "outside cats" growing up but I officially became a cat dad a few months ago, and I wish I would've seen this when I adopted him back then! I've always had some kind of animal growing up (I've always preferred reptiles and dogs but now I'm all about our felines! Lol) He insists on riding my shoulder as soon as I get home from work, sleeping in my lap, and 100% a furry best friend with very low maintenance! I was worried having to work 8-16hr days randomly and adopted him when he was still requiring milk replacer, and he's the best pet I've ever had! And the BEST alarm clock since he demands to be fed an hour before my alarm goes off that'll mean I'm about to half to hurry lol

What if my cats do all these things at 4-5am? And what if I work all day and can’t offer playtime throughout the day and by the time I get home, they are too damn hungry to play beforehand. And I live in a studio (basically) with no door and stuff everywhere (its temporary). I am at a LOSS.
