A note explaining the yellow 'overclock' nodes….
The chips you place have gates/doors to pass power through the connection lines. You can place gate doors in a empty (no line direction) and it will work fine. You could use OMNI 4 door chips everywhere and power would be flow everywhere just fine, however; this is where you lose stats due to penalties you should try to avoid.
A note about these YELLOW "overclock" nodes on boards, they are special to a particular board (as in solder to the board unable to change them). You do NOT place gates on the yellow overclock node/chips, you can only pass power to them to activate them. At 7:32 I showcase a Yellow 'massive damage' overclock node, you pass power SOUTH to it from the node above it. However the yellow massive damage overclock node has its own forced open gate to the EAST that flows power to the negative node. This node is only negative penalty node that cannot be avoided on this board IF you want the 'massive' overclock node. You either forgo both massive damage and the penalty, or get both powered on. With enough Engineering skill and chip merging you can overcome the penalty to still have all positive green stats.
I merged lots of my chips early trying to work out the system 🙆♂️🤦♂️
very explicit broski. Thank you for figuring out that you dont have to reset to get chips back. i saw it said i did but you just proved i dont. thank you
I can't get my chips from different boards to move over.
Treat it like a mini game nd don't activate the red..quite simple really
Great guide
Thanks for your time. I was trying to see if the merging was random. Agn ty
Thank you
7:42 , you don't have to take the penalty. All you had to do was use a chip that didn't have a node on the right side , even a chip with top, bottom, and left would have done just fine.
I'm sure they meant well, but the whole auto 9 customization still confuses me
Brilliant I didn't know how to use chip merge. Just had wtf moments and lost a load of high-value pieces! But the golden cow ou gave us was avoiding penalties! And the fact that each piece just needs to serve ones power direction needs and does not need to ill the slot exactly. Mindblown! Thanks!
cheers boss !
Thanks for this (and for getting down to brass tacks!).
Wow did you save me a serious amount of time trying to work out the nuances of the board/chip mechanic! Thanks for the straightforward video👍
I just saw this and was going to make one but you have covered it.
@KnightOfNoches btw.. sorry missed your message. I played 80% of the game with only merging twice, you do not run out of chip storage.
I would recommend not merging, or merge your lowest chips when you have at least 3 duplicate chips of a certain direction (pass through, deadend left, deadend right… etc) because its more important to fulfill a specific node direction correctly with a lower %value than to miss the node or get negative pathways with a higher %value.
Thank you…….
I started this game today it's pretty good. I watched this for the chip merging because I didn't think it was worth doing. The random out come just isn't worth it and kind of makes the feature pointless. I also found that the spread upgrade made it worse to. Good video
