Ahh the Magic Sneakers Game. Isn't it marketed as traversal+big magic game? Was also looking for Sonic Frontiers comparisons coming in here too 🤔😆!
I watched the Tokyo Game Show livestream for this, and the melee looked really stiff back then. Looks like it has been improved (slightly), but I think big magic spells (like a full caster) was the main design of the combat, but looks like the demo might not include (m)any of them. As for traversal, it just made me want to play Gravity Rush, and reminded me of the profound sadness inflicted by cali-sony when they killed Japan Studio and thus any chance of GR3 being made…
Good point on the intention of the demo though… definitely sounds like there is ulterior motive other than just to let consumers try before they buy.
3:30 I have to disagree, as someone who’s been reading up on the lore out of this game, there are reasons why she’s brought in that you can inform from the story they’ve told us so far. I don’t wanna give too much spoilers for those who haven’t read in on it, but here’s one thing to think about, Frey’s magic has the exact same color scheme and look as the break beasts and corrupted humans when charged up to the highest level, the same gold metallic look and design. Ironic because Frey is the only one not affected by the break? Coincidence? Maybe. In addition this world is a Matriarchy and the Tantas are all Matriarchs, Frey holding the same magical powers as those Tantas coincides with her being a matriarch in her own right.
I heard this is from the team that made FF15 and the feeling from what I saw sure seems like it.
Though the game still don't interest me, I hope this team has proper time and resources to finish it this time.

I'm not sure about this game after reading some of the comments. I will wait it out and see if you review the full game. I did that with Warriors Dynasty Empires 9. I'm glad I did after seeing you rip it a new one.
So what actually is the story/point though? Why are we fighting these things? All I am seeing from videos on youtube is this chick fighting random particle effect overload animal/demonic looking enemies in a generic grassy setting.
I am trepidaciously exited. It reminds of of FF15 In a weird way, which is A game I wish could have been better realized.
Can't say I'm surprised by the demo being a strange build, that isnt meant to reflect the final product. Classic Square.
I do believe the graphics look good as well lol, I'm glad to hear at least some parts of the game are shaping up well.
I enjoyed the demo too. Wasn't blown away but I did enjoy the magic.

The bad character choice and bad dialogue has been mentioned in every single video I watch about this game. For narrative to be so consistent across YouTube you would think this is the worse written in and performed game in 20 years but I doubt that's the case
I'm keeping an eye on this but my pre-order money for the first half of 2023 is already for FFXVI and Ryza 3. But defo would get this in the future!
So….yea…. In some ways the dialogue felt like high on life but not funny just irritating. I enjoyed the combat after I got use to it. I have it preordered because I want the steel book. I will likely get the steel book for 10ish on eBay and buy the game for 25 on Black Friday. There too many good games coming out to pay full price for one that I am really unsure about.
It sucks because I was one of the few that loved ff15 but this game is just not it.
Characters tend to lack weight/mass, the physics are very poor, you can jun run through groups and there’s no visible contact.
Dialogs are cringey, visuals are great and combat too. But the world seems really empty and boring. Its safe to wait for reviews and even then, wait for sale maybe
if i can mute her on-the-rag tone then i may play it. the demo was horrible to me. i may rent it from gamefly but no chance am i paying full price….which i dont do anymore for games anyways…but if the rental grabs my attention somehow ill wait for a deep sale.
