Great explanation Thank you!

This is a terrible way to introduce dogs. This is dangerous not only for the dog but for the owners too. If one of the dogs feels threatened by the other coming close to its owner or feels it’s personal space is being invaded, it could growl or even attack which could result in a fight. Having the dogs on Leads is important when introducing dogs together but by letting another dog invade another’s space is not the correct way at all!
lol two little easy to handle non- reactive dogs. Come on Victoria. Try something more realistic. 🙂
Love the colors of the autumn trees behind Victoria. Anyone know what species they are?
Also love Victoria's tips for doggers. So useable and workable!
James Dean is so handsome <3
no
Uhhh what 😂 you just contradicted yourself.
“Walking reduces the tension when meeting for the first time”
But yeah definitely don’t walk them first, absolutely put them on a 6’ loose leash and walk right up to each other with zero control.
There is no way I could just walk my rescue dog up to another dog like that.
What a total crock of shit. How is this woman as big as she is ? Absolutely zero control, absolutely loads of excitement and jumping up. If introduced some of the dogs I worked with like this it'd be a friggin bloodbath. This woman is deluded. If you're going to show a video on how two dogs meet, atleast make it realistic and choose two dogs that aren't already the best of friends. If you want to continuously preach "all positive is best" and balanced trainers are "medieval" then prove it ! The reason why balanced trainers get so angry is because there isn't one scrap of evidence, a before and after video of a genuinely genuinely bad case turned around. Total Muppet
Once again she proves how much she does NOT know about dogs.
Fabulous examples. Appreciated.
Have these dogs met each other before or is this the first time they have greeted each other?
I have 2,7 year old yorkies x jack rusells that I've had since they were 6 weeks old brother n sister the last few weeks they have been fighting I can't have them in the same room without them going for each other I'm at my wits end

Funny how she hates Cesar Millan so much and yet, he is saying exactly the same things she just said when introducing two dogs…
The only difference is he will wait for the two dogs to be calm…
good video. i just want to say that in my experience (i have a large dog) i notice whenever someone picks their small dog up mid introduction it always creates a lot of tension between both dogs that doesn't ever seem to be there when they're aloud to interact normally. so i think u should avoid picking ur small dog up and holding it over the others.
What about introducing a fairly aggressive dog?
What happens when an altercation happens immediately?
I just see Cesar Millan knowledge taken to the stupidity….
help me im handicaped id love to have a dog but it cannot be big gotta be a small dog had a dachsund but he passed im just getting over it i cant find or even know where to find one i dont even know how to train one n he needs a doggie door to i have much love to give him
I love Victoria and her teaching methods but one thing I think she leaves out is having the dog in front of her as pack leader. Also, when greeting others you should always be the one leading the dog to another person/animal not the other way around.
I love animals! They are so precious!!
what if you have a HYPER dog and a not so hyper. can you help
can u do a video of how to introduce a new dog to a teritorial dog
If the dogs are "risky" to put together, DON'T. Teach the dogs calming behaviors and do gradual introductions. Only allow access if both dogs are showing loose, relaxed body language. If either dog is tense, or stares hard, they are not suited to greet at that time. Try parallel walking, instead, with plenty of reinforcement for the dog re-directing attention from the other dog back to the handler.
Victoria, how do you introduce a new dog to old cats?
To me it seems like she has taken the easy option of doing this with two small pretty friendly dogs so not much chance of anything going wrong. As someone else said, let her do another bid with a husky or rottweiler and then show us what to do if the dogs are a little more risky to put together. This video really has not told me anything I don't already know. Please make another one with larger dogs which might not be as sociable as these two. Thanks
How do you introduce a guard dog like a rottweiler?
I made sure our leashes are nice and relaxed introducing German shepherd to Chihuahua. Shepherd ended up eating Chihuahua. Thank you
Really helped
VS is a very good dog trainer however i despair sometimes at the dogs she uses, it's like hey watch how easy this is, im sorry but from owning small dogs to Large GSD's the little ones no matter how difficult they can be, or aggressive, are vary rarely a problem to deal with, they are tiny!!!
i would have much prefered had she used two big dogs in this example as im sure anyone looking on here to try and help resolve issues they probably have (with lets face it a rescue dog who wasn't socialized at a young age) with their dogs are prob bigger than a hand full of sand!
Large dog at the end can kill the Chihuahua in one bite… He was barking at it… and showed dominance…
Just saying… Bad advice segment… You dont reinforce these behaviours.
Is the little Chihuahua her personal dog? Never seen her do any walking in a park on leesh with a large dog that she owns… To show good leash walking skills..
How is she teaching loose leash walking. or heeling… When she doesn't handle a bigger dog… I can lift a Chihuahua off the ground with two fingers… Heeling might kill the dog if you step on it..
I'm getting a new puppy and I have a dog already and I want them to greet calmly and I need help.
Vicky obviously learned a thing or two from CM.
Helpful if you're getting a new dog, but not for meeting friends. Wouldn't it be nice if every dog you met had such cooperative owners? Real world is not like this.
I have a great Dane puppy and a two year old dachshund who goes all crazy from a distance when he see the great Dane any thoughts ?
I have introduced many dogs together. Most times I start with the dogs walking together moving in the same direction, never nose to nose. This I find works better with strong minded dominant dogs. Two strong dominant dogs can get into trouble face to face. When their energy level drops and they seem to pay attention to their surroundings more then each other, they can slowly come together thru the walk. If you know and can read the energy level of the dog, it is easy to monitor them if one gets nervous or starts to act up. usually by now they are pretty settled. Most times introducing face to face with two dominant dogs will produce a fight especially when the owners are trying to hold them back and pulling on their leashes to keep them apart.
You just introduced 3 friendly dogs….What's the point? Anyone can do it….I can see this in the park every day

Now why the heck would the dog's size matter? That little one Victoria has (Jasmine?) seems dominant. Amy's first dog is submissive whilst the big one doesn't give a shit about Jasmine because it's obviously dominant and shows Jasmine early to not bother him and that way they're cool with eachother. Jasmine respects and gives him space. Most likely has nothing to do with James size. I've coma across many strongly dominant small dogs myself, where the big dog is the follower.
My dog growls at another dog but only sometimes, what should I do?
Do it with a pitbul and a husky try that
how would i Introducing my dog that is 4 years old and a puppy
my dog has somewhat been around other dogs
bu the puppy has not

She should show bad cases of dogs not little chiwawas that are calm
