The Palworld v. Nintendo Lawsuit Makes Sense Now..

Lots of pokemon are basically slightly modified animals or copied from other series.
Nintendo and Palworld have both done this so at most both are guilty.
Calling all the designs identical is a bit of a stretch though. Some are definitly a bit muc but those are often also based off of mythology so I would give them a pass. I think this is why Nintendo didnt do this. They would not have won an IP infringment so they tried something else.
Mind you id say the patents arent really a better choice, I just think they were banking on pocketpair on taking the loss since the money they would have had to pay would have been small compared to the profit they made. I Still support pocketpair in this case at the end of the day as Nintendo is far from innocent and has no right to patent those mechanics. Anyone interested can look it up but to my knowledge games that had those mechanics have existed before they were patended so therefore should no have been made in the first place.

I truly think that plus I think Nintendo wanted to buy them but they refused so now they're just trying to ruin them 😅 I wouldn't put it past them to do that a lot of people do that in the world especially big companies

They can't sue for copyright, because Palworld didn't "copy and paste" Pokémon designs like you said they did use a similar design, but every design is handmade from the ground up, with inspiration from Pokémon so this is not within Nintendo's right to claim copyright infringement.

Nah. Screw Nintendo. If they went after PocketPair for copyright, then that would be one thing. But these copyrights can and will hurt the gaming industry. Worse, it will set a precedentfor other companies to copyright more and more basic game mechanics which will harm the industry.

And I don't see that they are trying basically get a legal monopoly over creature collecting games more sympathetic because they are now fighting another big company.

I want to see Ninetendo to lose badly. Not because I hate them. Not because I won't be buying the next Pokemon. But because them winning will hurt everyone.

Pretty sure you can run and throw a palsphere in palworld unlike in Pokemon where you have to hold still to capture a pokemon, plus you can throw palsphere's while holding a gun so like throwing a grenade and it doesn't look anything at all like a pokemon throw that looks like a standard baseball throw so if anyone should be sueing for patent movements it's baseball on nintendo

crazy thought is pocket pair made the throwing idea before Nintendo so they really don't have the right for that one but they still would win it

My guess is that Nintendo tried to buy or partner with them and then they did this thing with Sony and so then yeah the lawsuits come up to it be an injunction.

They should just change the balls to nets.
And then go through and further customize the character models

Nah they greedy they sue regular people who sue and love them. Its not against Sony cause they didn't sue Sony. They sued Pocketpair. And pokemon shouldnt have patents cause they copied Dragon Quest games. Since NES nintendo has been evil. Look it up.

I would be worried too if I'm Nintendo.

It would be embarrassing to release a "REAL" open world Pokemon game now after this whole Palworld thing too. Then it would be as if they got taught a lesson by Palworld, would hurt their big eagle that never even listen to their Pokemon fan.

Idk if they ripped off pokemon designs. There's bound to be some similarities when the creatures are all based off real life animals (dogs, cats, foxes, lizards, dinosaurs, dragon etc.)

Nintendo kind of had this coming. I don’t like monopolies they sacrifice progress for money. It’s better to have neck to neck competitors and let quality sell and propel there companies further. Keep them uncomfortable we’ll get better games

Pocket Pair could end the whole case if they'd just bring up the fact they did all this in Craftopia long before the patent was even made
