I've had red nose pit bulls and now I have a brindle pittbull and I'm a firm believer that if they came in to this world with ears then they need to keep their ears and their tails as well me personally I don't like the look of any dog with cropped ears and tails never have but hey to each their own

I don't know why anyone would make "aesthetic" changes to an already perfect dog (which they all are). My first dog was a Boston Terrier mix, so he naturally had a stumpy tail. I was walking him one day and some woman started lecturing me about how a dog's tail shouldn't be cropped. I kept trying to tell her that his tail wasn't cropped. She wasn't even listening…she just kept lecturing. My second dog was a Frenchie mix, and I LOVED his bat ears. I just adopted an American Bully pup and they think he's mixed with terrier….he definitely looks more terrier than bully.

Edited to add: I hadn’t thought about the hunting aspect. I can see that. As far as ear infections my last Amstaff had huge issues with those but it was just something we dealt with.
Just think of the concept of having something removed off of your body to me. The concept is so primitive. In fact, I don’t care about papers for dog, but the European kennel club won’t even allow any animal that has docked tails or ears into show … I think it makes a dog look ugly, especially the army crop. It’s terrible and it’s all done for vanity reasons just like a Doberman… it’s cruel and barbaric….. people actually think that there’s nothing wrong with the thought in their head of cutting off their animals, part of their body for what? It’s twisted that you would even consider the thought

I so agree with you not having your beautiful boys ears cropped .I have seen some awful sights of ears being cropped its so sad as where i am from you see all the young lads walking round thinking there hard with their dogs with cropped ears .there not nice people . Cropping their ears does not prevent ear infection, on contrary it supports this.
When we got our Amstaff, the breeder has his ears cropped. about a year into his life, he started to get his ear infected time after time. Walking him during a rainy day was nothing but problems for him, causing even more infections and problems.
