That’s what I always thought😅
Maby someone will find how to transfer the kinetic energy that the engine made to go to light speed and to slow down take the kinetic energy and find a way to transfer the energy in to slowing down the ship maby???
can you do this for negative mass space craft?
Lol are you gonna use fossil fuel for a spacecraft that can reach almost to the light speed? Seriously mate?
"5 years of the energy our planet costumes" no, it depends on how massive the ship is
Crazy that it would still take incredibly long get to alot of places. Even at light speed
You don’t need the immediate equal opposing force a smaller force can do the job. It just takes longer and is easier on the occupants
Space doesn't have absolute 0 friction.
Turn the engine of it will stop slowly 😅
You don't give a viable explanation for your statement, that "accelerating a spacecraft to lightspeed is much, much easier, than slowing it down." So, why say this in the first place?!
Unfortunately you can’t go that fast as a human. You would simply turn into light, you would have so much energy you would become light
Our current understanding of physics has no answer to ftl travel. We have to be comfortable with the fact it might take generations of trial and error to get there.
Dude It's the future not now 😂
First thing is : what does it have to do with lightspeed? The mass of the carried propellant is a constraint at any speed.
Spacecrafts accelerate by exhausting propellant, constantly losing mass in the process. Which brings us to the second problem : your claim is false.
As fuel is exhausted, remaining mass gets lower, making acceleration higher. When the spacecraft is at Vmax, it's weight is less than what it was initially. The fuel burned to accelerate to 0 is then lower than the fuel burned to go from 0 to Vmax.
Tsiolkovsky's rocket equation can be used to determine m0 – mf as the mass of propellant needed to reach a certain speed. But since you need to do the process again, in the opposite direction, you determine that Ma is the initial mass, Mb is the mass at desired speed, and Mc is the dry mass with empty tank, which we'll set at speed = 0 (initial speed). Calculate delta m1 and delta m2 and compare them. You'll find that the fuel needed for the initial burn is e^(max speed / exhaust speed) times greater than the fuel needed for the stop burn.
So no, it's not "more difficult" to stop the ship. It takes less energy to stop it than to accelerate it, because mass lowers along the way.
Airbreaking 😂
Fingers crossed for stable worm holes then
thats a fuckin bs short srsly. From start to finish garbadge, try a scientific approach next time
Baloney. Just like you reennter in an atmosphere to slow down that is what you experience at that speed. What I want to know is how the spacecraft withstood the billions of pounds of pressure from the so called empty space of particles you're slamming into on the way. Slowing down is super easy just let go of the throttle.
We need to photosynthesize our way through space.

well I think I found the solution to the problem but am not sure I will let it out 🎉… Too many stolen stuff already
What about in front view, does it also slow down
You need more energy to accelerate than to slow down. Period. However using anti-matter, an element already discovered in labs. can accelerate to a portion of the speed light and stop us with just a few grams of it. It will be hard to harvest this yes, and even more preventing its self annihilation, but it is on the plans of the following centuries to make it real and is completely possible.
That made no sense and was self contradictory.
If you wanna stop quick, just crash into a planet
Why have we not found anything to do with advanced life if there’s no friction in space? All it takes is one spaceship just floating a round until it reaches us but it hasn’t. Out of the whole solar system
There are things flying around out there with different mathematical models than ours. Let’s start there.
For centuries?! How about for EVER?
It's not looking good for space travel. But! There's still hope if we can make use if wormholes to tunnel through the fabric of spacetime.
Haha… Yeah there's no hope for interstellar travel. We have less than one generation left as a species.
Pessimist…
We can warp space to go beyond speed of light and also slow down
Honestly it would be a lot simpler if exotic mater exsisted, then you could just “hit the breaks” and have the same exotic matter that brought you up to speed slow you down
no
Could we use black holes to slow it down? Like dont they catch everything, even light?
Let say you move at the speed of 200% of light speed could you go back in time?
If anyone can answer please answer.😊
Why not using the breaks ?
Are you dumb?
They should really moderate b.s on YT
Stop trying to travel at speeds. You want to go to a point of spacetime and be at it, not try to "fly" to it.
Humanity likely won’t venture out of the solar system for a VERY long time. We should stop fantasizing about it now, we should focus on terraforming Mars for the next couple centuries. If we don’t somehow discover warp travel, we’ll stay here for millennia to come
